I went with my 10yr old son and his friend. All three of us enjoyed the movie. Joker - stellar performance from Heath Ledger. Movie was very good, all the action was just superb. I am waiting for it to come on DVD so that I can own this one.

This was a fantastic movie for the older teen and adult crowd but would not recommend you take under 11 years old to see this movie. The Joker was pervasively creepy and two face was very graphic. Overall, excellent but not your kids Batman.

The Dark Knight is one of THE BEST movies out this summer. I'm not even a huge batman fan, but It really entertained me. Heath Ledger was AMAZING as Joker. Must see film of the year! I plan on seeing again and I've never seen a movie twice in theaters!!!

I didn't leave the movie thinking that I had a great time. It was a movie, and as action movies go, a decent one. Ledger did well, but everytime Bale spoke, I wanted to scream. Since when does Batman sound like his vocal chords have been destroyed? It's a movie to see...if you like seeing movies. However, if you're looking for more bang for your buck, make that your $10.50, go see Iron Man.

The action and language in the movie was for adults, and the dialogue was for four year olds. They held your hand the whole way and made sure that you knew the obvious was coming. 'Idiocracy' is upon us.

SPOILER ALERT - minor plot pieces revealed!
Overall, this was the best movie I have seen in years. It far exceeded the hype and my own high expectations. Everything about the film was top-caliber: writing, acting, direction, plot movement, sound, editing, and stunts. There are no slow scenes in this movie, and since this puppy runs for almost 2.5 hours, I hope you hit the bathroom and didn't drink too much coffee before the show! (I found the ferry scene to be the best place to pop out of the theater for a bathroom break.)
In our post-film discussion over some lunch and beers, some friends and I had a lot of praise. First off, the balance between the time of the different characters on the screen was excellent. Since BATMAN BEGINS gives us so much insight into the psychology of Batman, we know his motivations and therefore don't need to see them dissected in THE DARK KNIGHT. Instead, what we get is a psychological exploration of The Joker. He is a highly intelligent criminal and a sociopath, but he also has an anarchistic philosophy at his core that drives him.
Heath Ledger's performance is unbelievably good. Not only is THE DARK KNIGHT the best on-screen adaptation of any graphic novel, Ledger's performance is the best of any comic book character in the history of film.
THE DARK KNIGHT has a fast-moving plot and still allows us to see the psychological development of the main characters. Harvey Dent, played By Aaron Eckhart, is the tragic figure of the film. His passion for his job and his ensuing physical and psychological destruction create great sympathy in the audience for his subsequent metamorphosis into 2 Face.
One of the reasons this film is so good is that the plot is PLAUSIBLE (except for a couple of stunts that will flip you out). Everyone who goes to the theater has an expectation of suspending their disbelief for the sake of entertainment. But this film does not force the audience to do that, even though the characters are based in the DC Comics universe. BATMAN BEGINS also had this but the more artistic rendering of Gotham City (e.g., the monorail) was absent in THE DARK KNIGHT.
When I went to see the film a second time, I was amazed at how little of the plot I missed during the first viewing. Many times when I view a movie a few times, I get additional insights into the plot and/or characters. But the second viewing really confirmed everything that I felt from the first viewing, plus concentrating on The Joker made me realize even more how fantastic the script and Heath Ledger's acting was. If he does not receive a posthumous Oscar for this performance then I will never watch The Academy Awards again. Yes, he's that good.
Kudos to Christopher Nolan for a superb directing job. Sure, there were a few minor plot points that weren't fully fleshed out but this would have slowed down the plot and unbalanced the film. Also, major kudos to Hans Zimmer for an intense, brooding soundtrack. I really noticed how compelling the music was on my second viewing. While watching some scenes I imagined what the scenes would have been like without the musical score, and it really gave me an appreciation for how much Zimmer contributed to the tone of the scenes.
I am really looking forward to seeing this film in IMAX in a couple of weeks. I want to give myself some time before I see it again, but just thinking about some of the action might look on an IMAX screen will keep my anticipation at a high level!

From beginning to end The Dark Knight delivered unstoppable action with plot twists and suprises. The casting was perfect and The Joker - played by the late Heath Ledger - portrayed a memoriable, heartpounding, jaw dropping, scene stealing performance. The movie starts out explosively and continues from there. jam packed with thrills it takes you on an emotional roller coaster filled with twists and turns in a plot that we've come to expect form the Nolan brothers. Christian Bale didn't plow new ground with his role, but lived up to our expectations from Batman Begins. Heath Ledger's Joker was dark, twisted, cruel, calculating and mysterious. Truely a performance and a villain that will be difficult to match.

More than a comic book movie, this was the darkest of the Batman movies, and certainly grappled with some major moral and ethical issues. The struggle between good and bad, and with maintaining the distinction between the two, make this movie much darker, and more complex than your typical good vs. evil flick. Highly recommended for multiple viewings!

Heath Ledger was so unsettling and creepy. i was very skeptical about their choice to use him as the Joker in the first place, but he was even better than Jack Nicholson. Christian Bale and everyone else were great as always. ooh, and thank you to whoever decided to get rid of Katie Holmes and bring in Maggie Gyllenhaal--great swap!

This is a very good movie. It is very dark, however. There were many surprises. It kept me trying to guess what would happen next. Heath Ledger's performance of Joker was outstanding and shows what a great actor he was. He was very twisted. Christian Bale is, in my opinion, the best Batman to date. His portrayal comes closest to the comic book's 'Dark Knight'. I like the character who becomes Two-Face. I hope there is another movie with more action-packed and edge-of-your seat surprises.

This has to be one of the best movies I have seen in a theater in quite some time. It did not feel like I was in the theater for 2 1/2 hours, I know how those movies feel and this one seemed just the right amount of time to tell the story BUT it even had me wanting more!!!
Heath Ledger will no doubt in my mind win the Best Actor award. I'm not sure if they will nominate him in the Leading or Supporting role because I guess Christian Bale is the leading role, but you wouldn't know that after taking in Ledger's role as Joker. He was simply phenomenal and stole the entire movie.
I HIGHLY recommend this film to anyone, you don't have to be an action fan to enjoy this movie, the story is gripping and the intelligence of Joker is astounding, at first you take him for a pushover, but he is so much more than that...
Wonderfully written and directed, I would suspect Christopher Nolan to be nominated as well.
