Batman has been dark throughout the entire franchise but never like this. Heath Ledger brought another side of the Joker to today's audience. This even darker and more demented Batman villain kept me on the end of my seat throughout the entire movie. He was cleaver, unmerciful, and entertaining. He was all of the things that a villain should be and the late Heath Ledger did more of a good job than I could've imagined. Two-Face (Harvey Dent) was even to my liking. His origin was exciting and believable. The effects for his "evil-side" was scary and creepy but yet, more than satisfying. His chance gimmick (with the lucky coin) was deliciously evil. Aaron Eckhart played both characters fairly well.
Even though this was a comic book movie Christopher Nolan done the movie a great deal of justice, especially after the first Batman movie he did. This movie was did better than any other Batman movie. This movie kicks Tim Burton's butt. It is delightfully dark. It might be too dark for some. It might be too dark for some hardcore Batman fans. But like a roller coaster ride, some danger is necessary to have fun. It is worth seeing it by all, it is worth seeing it more than once, Heath Ledger's last performance was phenomenal, and this movie just fails to disappoint. A+ from me.

i saw this movie twice and it's even better the second time. all the hype and buzz is deserved this is so much more than a "comic book" movie, it is simply awesome, if you haven't see it yet stop reading and go. heath did not die in vain, he was awesome as the joker. this is the best movie ever.

Not being a Batman fan, I enjoyed the action packed movie overall, however, it went a little too long I think. Heath was incredible and I hope he wins an Oscar!

The only thing that came to my mind after seeing the movie was "When shall I watch it again". The movie Batman begins was pretty good but this one just runs over its prequel!!!
The direction, screenplay and acting rocks. You wont ever find a flaw in this film. Heath Ledger deserves an oscar his act as a joker. Must watch for everyone except young children as some scenes might scare them.

I thought this was the best movie I have ever seen. It had all I could ask for. Great story, awesome action, and some of our best actors ever. Heath Ledger did the most fantabulous job as The Joker. He was sick. The depravity he brought to the greatest Batman villian of all time will never be matched. I am so glad that the time of the campy take on Batman is over. Give us this that we can believe exists. Batman rules as the greatest hero of all time. There are no others.

The Dark Knight had everything going for itself, a great script, a great cast, great score...everything was AMAZING.
The fact that the director took the time to incorporate such subtle details , was astounding in itself. This one is definitely going down as one of the best movies of all time!!!!

I was watching this movie with a friend at at the end I said, "Heathe Ledger did such a great job in this movie." My friend asked, "When was Heathe in the movie?" He couldn't believe that was Heathe playing the Joker. Wow! The action was intense. There were a couple of times that I even jumped in my seat. When they showed Two-faces makeup, everyone in the theater gasped. Best Batman Movie ever. I'm debating on listing this movie as my favorite replacing the Lord of the rings trilogy. That's how muched I loved this film. Heathe should get best supporting actor for this role.

This movie was amazing, it is hard to even put it all into words. Heath was without a doubt crazy creepy! I loved it and I am already planning to go see it a few more times...IMAX and with outhers that haven't seen it.

I would recommend this movie highly. It is an incredible superhero movie. It is more than that though. Nolan has such a wonderful touch with emotion and confusion. It is so much better than when someone of the likes of Brett Ratner tries to direct one. Not recommended for the younger section of Batman fans though. Very intense and powerful.

Sometimes you have to just accept the bad with the good and that is the case with The Dark Knight, and comic book movies in general. I am a comic fan so it may be easier for me to do than most. The bad in this case being the ease with which The Joker can set up tremendous quantities of explosives at busy hospitals and ferries. I am not going to ruin the end of the movie for audiences, but I will say it is a little on the week side. Also, and this may not bother other viewers, I am not a big fan of the speech pattern of the costumed Batman. I understand the need to disguising his voice, but it is just too over the top. I would rather suspend the disbelief that people would recognize him than to listen to him growling out his dialog. The good parts though are very good and consist of some fine acting, directing, action, and pacing of what is a long movie. Ledger's performance was excellent.

The movie was a great sequel to Batman Begins. There was action from start to finish. Don't be pulled in by all the "Oscar Hype" There isn't any of that in here by Heath Ledger, however, his performance as the Joker was as good if not better than Jack Nicholson's. The only other drawback to it is that Katie Holmes didn't take up her role again. Not a big deal, but still a bummer just for the sake of continuity. If not for Iron Man, I'd say this was the best action movie of the year. Go see it!

Up til this point, my favorite 'genre' movie was Spiderman II, but TDK blows that one out of the water, and then some.
All the performances we spot-on. I first thought that all the acclaim for Ledger's Joker was because everyone was jumping on the posthumous bandwagon.
I was wrong. Ledger's Joker is fantastic, creepy, evil and mesmerizing.
I'm not one for repeat theater visits of the same movie, at least not since the summer of '77 when I spent 3 months watching Star Wars. I was 8, sue me; however, this is one I'll be back for.

By far the best batman. Ledger as the joker far out preforms Nickhlson in ever aspect. While Bale, to me at times, overacts the role its is still a fine prefomance. Ledgers preformance is in talks for an oscar, and I would tend to agree.

This movie lives up to its name. The movie is dark and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The visual effects are unbelievable. Ledger plays the Joker amazingly, no one will ever be able to capture Joker like he did. Bale is even better as Batman and I hope they keep him if they ever make another Batman movie.

After waiting in line an hour with my 14 year old son to see this move -- we both felt it was a big dissapointment. The leading lady (Batman & the distrit attorneys girlfriend) was butt ugly, even with the full makeover she had for the show, it made me cringe when there was a romantic scene with her in it. Wonder who's daughter she was???? There was far too much talk and far too little action/special effects. The movie drug on far too long. I could not wait for it to end and felt it was not very entertaining, a waste of time/money, and my son was ready to leave towards the end and nearly fell asleep. Although the joker did a great acting job, the balance of the cast was very average. Overall-- A BIG LET DOWN FOR MY SELF AND MY SON.

A little slow to start, but once Mr. Ledger hits the screen the film is in high gear. But be warned, this is a much darker film than the first Nolan/Bale BATMAN BEGINS. The filmmakers do not pull their punches on this one. They follow the story through to it's logical conclusions -- something many tent pole movies are often afraid to do.
As enjoyable as the film was, I left the theater a little sad. This inspired, brilliant performance from Heath Ledger will only make us miss him all the more.

The movie was filled most major topics such as politics, economics, sociology, psychology, romance, and cinematography. I would highly recommend this movie to everyone.

Best Batman yet! It wasn't as dark (evil) as the last one which I also loved but was still filled with tons of action. I was disappointed when it was over, I could have sat there another couple of hours. I went in thinking Health Ledger could not be as good as they were saying, but he was! It was a great performance by the entire cast!
