The new Iron Man was a great addition to the Marvel movie family. The story did a great job capturing the origin and transformation of Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. gives a great performance as the egocentric playboy Tony Stark. I would definitely reccomend this movie to anyone who is a Marvel fan. Once again Marvel hits another homerun.

I grew up reading comic books so am always interested in seeing how the Hollywood studios interpret these characters. In the case of Iron Man, they have provided a wonderful trip down memory lane, as they have interpreted the characters of Tony Stark, Iron Man, Rhodey and Pepper Potts just as I had imagined them in my own mind. The casting of Robert Downey was brilliant, as he provides just the sort of smart-alecky tone one would expect from playboy billionaire Tony Stark. Yet he has the acting chops sufficient to pull off Stark's change in moral compass halfway through the film. The character of Pepper Potts (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) could have been more developed, but we'll see what comes out of the eventual sequel. There is a hint of one in the movie... Overall a great evening's entertainment good for the whole family and fanboys won't be disappointed.

I loved Iron Man because the movie emphasized loyalty, restitution and the responsible use of power by individuals and nations. I also loved that unlike Spiderman and other Marvel supers, Stark isn't accidentally endowed with new skills. Albeit he is a tech genius, but his heroic journey mostly involves an arrogant man coming to grips with his own depravity and choosing to change. I found this to be very deep and engaging. I was however, dismayed to see quite a lot of parents with small children in the theater that were obviously well under 13. The movie is PG-13 for various violent sequences so KEEP YOUR LITTLE ONES HOME!!!

With this movie, Marvel Comics' movies have finally achieved their Batman. Intelligent heir to fortune grows a soul and conscience to use their technology for fighting evil. Robert Downey, Jr. effortlessly pulls off a convincing Tony Stark. There are plenty of easter eggs for comic book aficionados to ooh and aah about throughout the film. If you are a fellow reader of the Marvel Universe, make sure you don't miss the scene after the credits.

This movie is just flat-out entertaining in every way. It was surprisingly really funny, and just full of great action and special effects. I know it has been said before, but Bob D Jr was PERFECT for this role. Tony Stark was the character he was born to play. The acting was great across the board. The special effects were top-notch, and the pacing was perfect. Just when it would beging to border on getting slow, things picked up again. I was not ever an Iron Man fan (although I did read some comics when I was younger) and I was fully engaged in the story.
There were only two gripes I had. 1) I thought the ending was a tad over the top. 2) The music was nothing special...I like a good super hero orchestral theme.

I was really excited about this movie and it did not dissappoint. Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark. I could not see any other actor in this role. The effects were awesome the story was excellent. I highly recommend this movie even if you don't know anything about Iron Man. This is a movie everyone can enjoy not just us Comic Geeks. And don't forget to stick around till after the credits have rolled.

This is without a doubt one of the best movies I've ever seen. The cinematography was perfect as well as the casting. I wasn't sure about Robert Downing Jr. for this role at first, but I take back any doubt just fifteen minutes into the film. He didn't just star as Iron Man he WAS Iron Man. And thankfully there was no cheesy romantic plot put in. The amount of implied romance was just right. The storyline is very well put together and I say this as a long time Iron Man fan who grew up reading the comics.
The editing and graphics are the best I've seen since "Transformers." It blew me away how perfect everything was put together. The music rocks as well. Overall I loved it and I recommend it to anyone who had any doubts.

I thought this was the best movie I have seen yet this year. Robert Downey Jr. did an excellent job as the " Iron Man." The supporting cast and the overall plot of the movie contributed to making it a must see. It is definitely worth the money to see this movie on the big screen.

Took our family of 5 to see it with youngest being 9 yrs old. It was a great movie. Graphics were cool, action packed, lots of fun and Robert Downey, Jr. did a phenomenal job. It was very entertaining from start to finish!! Go see it!! :)

This movie was great. Good comic relief, excellent cast and super action scenes. I would have never thought Robert Downey Jr could carry and action hero roll. Boy was I wrong. And best of all he was HOT!! There is something in this movie for everybody!

This movie was hyped for so long that we were sure that once again all the best parts were in the trailers. Still, we promised the grandsons a first day movie date. We were greatly surprised - this was a super movie, and it is a toss up to decide if the 8 year old, the 17 year old or the grandparents enjoyed it most! This is really a great, great, movie!

The casting of this movie in my opinion was done extremely well. And due to that fact the characters fit well in the movie and the acting was wonderful. Just seeing Iron man come to life was an awsome experience, and I would suggest this movie to anyone with a flare for comics, machines, or just overall good movie entertainment. This movie was entertaining from the very beginning. My kids had no idea what an Iron Man was and they were wondering why daddy got them out of school for a "Dr" appointment and we ended up at the theatre. Fans of the comic book will not be disappointed, and new fans will enjoy the story. Robert Downey did a great job with Stark and I will likely see the movie a second time. Have fun!!

By far the best movie I've seen in a long time it's not just a great superhero movie it's a great movie. I had my doubts about Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man but to be honest he was perfect. I've have been let down by so many superhero and action movies recently but not at this one. A+++

Great movie! Robert Downy Jr., Gweneth Paltrow, and Jeff Bridges all give top notch, believable performances. The characters grab your attention from the get go and take you for a ride. When the movie was over, no one in the theater moved. We all were left wanting more--when is Iron Man 2 coming out????

I was so happy to see an "almost" accurate Marvel super hero movie. Unlike privous Marvel movies, this one is preety much spot on. The origin isn't 100% accurate since they made it more of a modern day era of Tony being captured in the Middle East. Jarvis isn't a person, he's essentially a central computer for Tony's house and is routed into his suit to help Tony when he's Iron Man. For the Marvel fans, you'll love the fore shadowing of War Machine. And you have to stick around until after the credits, you won't regret it. Fantanstic movie!!!

I read somewhere that comic book movies were killing the sci-fi genre...well Iron Man is not among those. This is a very solid outing by all. Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow are great supporting actors and Robert Downy Jr. nails Tony Stark. As a fan of the comic, I didn't mind that the origin story was altered it worked perfectly. Looking forward to the sequel.
