Robert Downey, Jr., is brilliant and the story is amazing; however, there are some very intense scenes with terrorists and violence that I believe are not appropriate for children under 14, with a parent or without. I would recommend it very highly to everyone else. Easily a 5-star movie.

it was not what i expected. Sure, i expected it to be good, but it was more then good. It was an Amazing movie. It had me on edge. i was laughing and smiling. It was one of the best movies i've seen this year. They really outdid themselves. The actors were true and took on their roles very well. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who loves adventure. Im proud to say, i saw "Iron Man".

WOW...The 2hrs flew by! I wanted more!!! Robert Downey Jr. and crew were excellent!The storyline was at a perfect pace, the effects were superb.I just wish there was more Ironman scenes!

Not since Micheal Keaton have we had such a brilliant piece of casting in a Superhero move. Robert Downey is phenomenal as Tony Stark. The movie is serious not too much of the goofy tongue and cheek humor. The special effects are awesome. I do not have a negative word to say about this film. Way to go Jon Favereau

I brought my friends, my kids and my wife. This is a rollercoater ride all the way. Great script, great acting, Paltrow and Downey Jr. were terrific. The effects were on point!!! They put as much of the marvel comic material in as they could...S.H.I.E.L.D., hints of WARMACHINE. This was a great flick, and the fight scenes rocked. I will deffinatly be buying the dvd and collectables!!! SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! A+A+A+A+A+A+

Best super hero type movie type movie I've ever seen! Great from start to finish. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow were both terrific. Stay after the credits to see a brief pre-view of what to expect in the sequel.

I was sceptical at first. I had heard all the hype about how good this movie was going to be and was afraid it couldn't possibly live up to it. However, I am happy to say it did. This movie was fresh, funny, and very hip. I loved the quick witt supplied by Downey and Paltrow and the way they developed their relationship. This movie definiately needs a sequal.

Iron Man surprises and delights. There is consistent humor, blazing action and real heart in this superhero epic. Robert Downey Jr. completely owns the role of Tony Stark, making him a likable and believable character. This ranks up with the original X-Men movie adaptation, and Spider-Man 1 & 2. You absolutely should see this movie, even if you've never picked up a comic book in your life.

This was a very well done origin story for Iron Man, that updates the character to modern day without removing the elements of the comic that define the man and the hero. My only gripe was that the pacing early on was a bit slow, and although the content was necessary, its delivery lagged a bit. About halfway through the film really picks up though and it is a fun and wholly enjoyable ride from there on out. The effects are spectacular, especially the movement and "weight" of the suit. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect as Stark, and he was a worry when I first heard the casting choice. The dialog was witty, Jeff Bridges was ominous, and Gwyneth Paltrow actually did surprisingly well as Pepper. I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

The movie has it all. Action, romance, and some tongue in cheek humor that will make you laugh out loud. The suit itself goes through a number of incarnations during the movie, much like Tony does as he learns the consequences of his actions. Also stick around through the credits there is a little something added that will be worth the wait.

it was good, not a big fan of downey jr, but he's perferct for this role, a middle aged alcoholic with too much money and no real direction in life..then is reborn w/ purpose and some moral responsibility. kinda expected more after all the hype, but isn't that always the case

It was a good movie. Decent plot, good special effects of course, and it had a similar origin story to the comic book. I'm a nurse and a firearms instructor and i can tell you he would've been dead, suit or no suit, about 10 times over in real life. But, I go to the movies to see "reel" life. I thought it was great and I look forward to a sequel.
I still have that guitar solo in my head...

I watch a lot of movies at the theater...sometimes there will be 5 movie playing at once I have seen...This is by far the best movie I have seen in a while...I love Robert Downey since I was a teen and WOW he is so amazing and has come so far with his life and god given talent....great story line, comedy, romance and no one else could of played his role..GREAT JOB ON THE CAST...I want and will so see it again on the ultra screen and I will..that is how great it is

I thoroughly enjoyed my night out with Gwyn and Iron Man. The 7 and 8 o'clock screenings were sold out at Rosedale but luckily I'd bought my 7 pm tkt online -- and with my AMC Watchers card, got a free popcorn and drink! As an origins action flick it was quite satisfying, more so than the Batman equivalent. The CGI was way cool and both Gwyneth and Robert were perfect in their roles. Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges also held their own with credible performances. But I wish they'd shot using an anamorphic lens instead of what looked like mostly standard format with lots of flat looking close ups which felt a little claustrophobic. They needed to open it up, especially in Afghanistan. Same for inside Downey's lab and the almost-love-scene on the high rise balcony.

Jon Favreau is the new "Bryan Singer" in Comic Fans minds. At least he is to me. Iron Man is the most "dedicated to the source material" Comic Movie made to date. Thats a lofty statement considering the company its in. With established franchises in the Spider-man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four Soup bowl; I went into this film hopeful, but not expecting much. Boy was I ever surprised. Gone are the days that Comic book movies are, well....Comic booky. Iron Man isn't just good, its REALLY good, and it delivers on my 3 basic criteria for a good movie (1) its an actual movie clocking in at 126 minutes. You can really sink your teeth into it. (2) The acting is superb. You will find no over the top performances here. and (3) The story is solid. Jon actually tells a story that has been told in the run of the comics unlike so many comic book movies where the only thing you recognize is the characters. As this is Marvel's first in house published movie; alot is riding on it. Trust me, they have nothing to worry about. And in the immortal words of the great Stan Lee "NUFF SAID!!"

This was a really great movie. It had a good pace, with excellent special effects, and Downey Jr. kept it extremely interesting! His performance was absolutely dynamite! Even for folks who aren't into the superhero genre, the story and dialogue keeps it fresh and engaging. Highly recommended!

My husband is a dyed in the wool comic book/sci-fi nerd, so I am dragged to any and all movies that have anything to do with this type of thing. Robert Downey Jr. was a wonderful surprise- passionate and driven and the effects were fantastic. I was really mesmerized by the technology that Starks was using as he built the second iron man suit. Even Gwyneth Paltrow was believable as Pepper Potts ( and I am NOT a fan of hers). I plan on seeing it again with my son (age11) later this summer.

Sure it was a good movie. There were a lot of people saying stay till the end, past the credits for an awesome clip. I stayed through what, 10 minutes of credits for around a 15 second clip of "someone" that is in too many movies nowadays.

Robert Downey Jr. was awesome as Tony Stark! He showed a great range of emotion and eclectic genius that needed to become the man behind the iron mask (Actual Gold and titanium alloy LOL!!!!) His co-star the Audi R8 took the show! Gwyneth Paltrow was a great pepper Pots. Can’t wait to see Terrance Howard as War Machine in the sequel.
The 3D FX were clean and very believable. (Unlike the up and coming Hulk remake which looks to be doomed to a second failure).

With only 120 minutes of run time, most movie these days have a hard time creating any degree of depth to it's characters. In many cases you don't even care about the characters and just want the action and special effects. WIth this movie you get it all. Believable characters, action, interesting story line, and a fantastic iron man suit. The iron man character itself is great to watch and experience. Everyone working on this film got it right. You know when a movie is great when the viewing audience cheers, laughs, and applauds at the end.

Great movie. Makes me want to go read the comic books. I love how they have an alcholic play an alcoholic. They couldnt have picked a better Tony Stark. Action was wonderful. There was no boring part through out the movie. Dosent keep you on the edge of your seat but when you sit back and enjoy the story, they pull something out of their hats and get you on the edge of you seat again. Bravo Marvel!!!!!
