This was a fun movie, good visuals, lots of action, really bad guys, a flawed and humorous hero, and a beautiful woman. Of course with Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow you have a pretty good head start. Not as deep of a plot or character study as Spiderman, but good summer fare.

Very good start to what could be an excellant franchise. The film is intelligent, well written, well acted and visually exciting with just the right touches of humour and a bit of romantic
tension to keep things rolling. Downey and Paltrow are terrific and the supporting cast does their job well. Definately worthwhile and a great addition to the super hero roster!.

I haven't been too thrilled with the latest crop of comic book movies lately (Superman Returns anyone?). But Iron Man has laid those fears to rest. The casting was spot on and the performances they delivered were great! There was a good mix of CGI and practical effects throughout the movie. Go see it, it's a great way to kick off your summer.

There have been a lot of super hero action flicks lately. With "Spider-man" setting the bar in 02 and every hero from the "Fantastic Four" to "Batman" following suit, we've been up to our necks in heroes. Thankfully, "Iron Man" is much more than a half-hearted attempt to cash in on a comic property.
There is little to dislike about this film. All the actors deliver a solid performance. Bridges does come accross a bit stiff, I think it fits his character. There isn't five minutes in this film where something isn't happening on screen to make you laugh or to get your blood pumping. The movie doesn't even lean on Iron Man's suit to carry the movie. There are large gaps where the suit isn't even on screen, and although I was excited to see Iron Man come to life, I also enjoyed the character interaction and development throughout.
Comic geeks and the uninitiated will all find something to enjoy in this movie. Young children, however, might not be able to follow the stories mature dialogue. Just ask the four-year old that sat behind me in the theater.

This was an incredible movie. It has quick wit, fast paced action and great special effects! There's something in there for everyone. Well done and quite believable was Robert Downey Jr. as Stark. Pepper was "hot" too!

My wife and I gave Iron Man 4 stars only because we have to reserve 5 starts for truly perfect movies. That said, within the comic book genre, they don't get any better than this. Funny, thrilling, great effects, great acting - it has it all. Downey is great, and you get the sense that it's him even when all you see is the suit. Bridges is convincing, Paltrow is lovely, Howard is a great friend. Even the robots are entertaining.

Iron Man was a pleasant surprise for me, I usually endure my 7 year old son's movie selections, but this movie was excellent. He loved it too! My husband came along and he said it left him "wanting more". He has not gone to a movie in years. The following night, my 17 year old son went to see it with his friends, and they all thought it was great. We all are looking forward to the sequel.

...you will enjoy this movie. Even if you never read comics, this is a great action movie. Hollywood is finally starting to get the superhero movie right. As an avid comic book reader in my youth, I have been disappointed with every big budget Marvel movie to hit the big screen. DC finally got it right with Batman Begins after many failed attempts. Now Marvel hit the jackpot with Iron Man. Well written story, tight acting, and great effects. Funniest thing is, Iron Man was my least favorite Marvel super hero. Wait a few minutes for the credits after the movie, there is a nice bonus scene :)

This movie has an excellent (if not perfect) blend of comedy, action, & a little suspense. The sarcasm Stark (main character) uses is excellent. The personality his lab robots have and quirky friendship they share is a hoot. The invention process of the suit is extremely funny (once you see the movie, note the part about starting out at 10% thrust). As a hero, in the comic book sense, he is unconventional at best. Most heroes have a mild mannered personality. He does not at all. The action is definitely a 5 for 5. Lots of explosions and destruction. Good hero kicking bad guy butt action. The suspense is on the light side, but they used as much as possible without destroying the plot line. The villain is hidden very well until 2/3s into the movie. Basically this is one of the few I will be buying. If you don't have Blue Ray, get a Blue Ray, player, HD LCD TV, and this movie.

Good Flick, Action from the first start !
Good enough flick where even the ladies will enjoy it as well as families young and old.
Well written, story is slightly similar to most Superhero movies, however still keeps you watching.
Without a doubt another sequel on its way, and Robert Downey very good selection for this role!

Iron Man was a good popcorn movie in fact you could go thru several large buckets because the movie is so long. In fact it was too long! They could have cut out at least 45 minutes of the movie of story time of him going thru his emotions about selling weapons - am I a bad guy? and all that soul searching and get to the action. When Iron Man finally gets down to business he kicks some azz. The $200 million the spent on this picture was well spent on the special effects. Anybody who liked the Robocop movies will love this movie.

I took my 4 year old son to see the movie, because like all little boys he absolutely loves anything to do with Super Heroes - (Marvel or DC, he doesn't know the difference yet!) - I heard some parents talking about that it was too scarey for little ones... I disagree. Kids can see explosions and shooting every night on TV... this movie was a great example of good triumphing over evil... plus it was just COOL! :-) Adults will like it too... A little "tension" between Piper and Tony... plus, it was COOL! Great job Marvel... and Stans Cameo was hilarious!

Iron Man had a lot of humor and action but could have had more action scenes of Iron Man. All of the charactors were very entertaining and a pleasure to watch.
Excellant one liners from Iron Man and Pepper, Gweneth Paltrow, got a zinger in too.

I was a little worried about going to this move (I'm not a fan of comics) but I was pleasantly surprised. This movie has it all, Action, Drama, Comedy. Robert Downey was an excellent choice for the Lead role. I will continue to recommend this movie to everyone I talk to.

This movie was good. It was well written. Cast was great. Deffinately edge of your seat action. There is something that bugged me though. There were so many loose ends. I have read the series for years and I have to say that I was very impressed that They acknowledged the fact that there was another Iron Man who was Tony Starks best friend. Then they made enough room for the sequale with S.H.I.E.L.D. I was floored. Go See This Movie!!!!!!!

Great casting, good writing, excellent effects, great direction, and a ton of loose ends that don't distract from the story but allow for the introduction of War Machine & the Avengers, and a veritable deluge of other stories, relationships and neat ideas. Funny, clever, solid, and believable as a story even not to non-Iron Man fans, this movie show what happens when care is used to make a comic book adaptation, not a committee.
