This movie, like the other Marvel adaptations, lived up to its expectations. I took three of my neighbor's kids to see it and we all had a great time.
I did not even look away from the screen when one of them spilled their pink soda on my white jeans. The love scene was not suitable for them though. Was that really PG-13? Hmmm!!!
I liked the plot-line, because it showed that there is a super-hero in all of us just waiting to get out and do good for the world.
In regards to the deep reviews picking apart the special effects, relax guys, this is just a movie. If you want something real, go visit a homeless shelter and help share food to the poor.
You have to bring it HULK!!!

True to the comic, great acting to go along with the special effects. A good movie like Batman Begins and not corny like Fantastic Four. Everyone enjoyed from the the comic fan to the action junkie to the person who knew nothing of the plot going in.

I took my grandchildren to see this. I thought it was an excellent movie to show that we all are gifted, what we do with those gifts is up to us.
The kids left feeling empowered.

This one is clearly a "foundation" movie to lay out the storyline for the Ironman saga, so there's WAY more talking than action. I'd say it's about 80% talk and 20% action. Still though, the movie is hot. Didn't think Robert would have been able to pull this one off, but he and the rest of the cast did a great job at proving me wrong. The special effects are sick, the acting is believable, and the storyline is solid with a mix of comedy. I'd expect the next one to have a lot more action though since so much of the base was established in this one, but this one is definitely worth a look! I would highly recommend!

This is the top comic book hero movie made to date. It beats any of the Batman and Spiderman movies, and is better than Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Hulk, Daredevil, etc., etc. Even better than Transformers!!!!

Robert Robert. Downey and Favreau are an unbeatable team. I totally
agree with the other reviewer here who noted that it took a huge FAN of

Excellent pace, dialogue, and action. Great setup for Avengers sequel (I'll bet RDJ has a cameo in Hulk this Summer). In my book, second only to Batman Begins as a comic adaptation. You do not need to know anything about Iron Man to love this movie.

This movie was great! I didn't really know the story behind the Iron Man character, so it was good to get some background info in the beginning. The good thing was though, the background info didn't take up that much of the movie. It got right down to the story line. I love Robert Downey Jr. and he plays Tony Stark remarkably. The movie would have been good with someone else in it, but RDJ just made the movie so much better. He is totally believable in his role. The supporting cast is amazing too! Definitely worth going to see!!

I am one of those "people" who grew up reading Iron Man. But I'm not a diehard fan. I do not expect the movie to reflect the comic in every exact detail. With that said, Marvel did an excellent job translating the story from the comic book to the movie screen. You can watch without knowing anything about Iron Man and you will not be lost. They took some libertys with characters but overall it enhanced the movie and kept things moving. The story was good. A nice mix of humor, action, and drama. I am glad Iron Man was the first summer blockbuster to be released. It set the bar high for the other movies coming out this summer. Go see it! I promise you will like it.

A very entertaining offering for fans of the Marvel comic. Casting was spot on with all characters. Just the right blend of action, comedy, and information regarding the how Iron Man was created. I would bet (and hope) that an Iron Man II is in the works.

I'm a pretty critical person, and I'm a big fan of both movies and comics. This is the first movie I can think of in a long, long time with which I have no complaints. None. There is not even one small thing that I thought should have been done differently. The cast was fantastic, even people I don't generally like (G. Paltrow). The action was great. The comedy was funny, but not overdone. The story moved along at a good clip. Absolutely perfect. My wife liked it so much she insisted that we see it a second time the following day. And we might go see it again. I have been putting off the HD format, but I will purchase this movie and a Blu-Ray player the day that it comes out.

I was really looking forward to this movie, and I wasn't disappointed! Downey did an amazing job as the spoiled genius who finds his soul. Bridges was terrific as Stane and Paltrow was good as Potts. Terence Howard had little to do as Rhodey, but I expect that will be remedied in future films. Helluva teaser after those credits! In short, I am One Happy Geek Girl!

It has action, good special effects, cool futuristic technology, humor, sarcasm & a tiny bit of a love story. If you like RDJ....he's not hard to look at in the film and there are a few pretty girls to enjoy as well. And be watching for RDJ to be knockin back his current addiction...green algae shakes. Mmmm, yum. It is already a long film, but for those fans who want a sneak peak into the future of Iron Man, stay to watch till the very end of the credits. The artistry playing during credits is worth the stay as well.

Being a fan of Marvel for many years and seeing some attempts fail(Hulk, Elektra) and some soar (X-Men, Spiderman) I went in with an open mind and left fully satisfied.The story flowed with very few lulls in the story. The FX were superb and Bridges made one fine villian. I would recommend this for fans and non fans alike.

This was a most excellent movie in every respect - the acting, the story, the effects, etc. Loved it. However, I do have to give it four stars instead of five because of the few cheesy action moments. You will know them when you see them, but suffice it to say that the same or similar things could have taken place in a slightly less-cheesy way; this would have carried the same thematic ideas and character development without the little dose of unbelievability. Really, those were the only parts that mildly broke the suspension of disbelief for me. Everything else was excellent. Oh, and definitely stay past the credits.

We took our grandson to see Iron Man. I was sure my husband would fall asleep but didn't. We all loved it. Intense in most parts and just fabulous. Yes, we would also see it again and might buy the DVD when it is out. Don't leave until all the credits have run. Surprise!

Great plot, loved watching him design suits, he was witty, charming, funny. He nailed the roll of the playboy bachelor and I loved watching his character develop. Excellent writing and directing. I can't wait to own this one!!!!! One of the best superhero movies I have ever seen!!

Exciting from the get go; good story line; very little gratuitous skin or foul language. It is refreshing to have an exciting movie with characters that are written in such a way that their dialogue consists of much more than four-letter words. At the same time, while we will definitely go see the sequel, this is not a movie we recommend taking small children to as it is made clear early on that the main character is a wham-bam-thanks kind of man.
