I liked this movie, it was such a cool idea and very interesting, but lacking in the action department! We definately could have used more action/fight scences! Be still a very good movie!

First, when the movie ends, do NOT get up and leave until all the credits roll or you will miss the big surprise. Trust me on this. Its worth the wait.
Iron man is what is supposed to happen when you combine a great director, writers, and actors. Its the real deal. Everything you've heard about this one is true. I went in skeptical and was literally blown away in just the first few minutes. I actually jumped in my seat. It was scary, funny, sensitive, and amazing.
Robert Downey, Jr. brings just the right blend of arrogance and sympathy to his character. I can't help thinking that his time in prison has reshaped him into an even better actor. Gwyneth Paltrow takes what would have been a shallow role and fleshes it out with just the right blend of loyalty and sensuality. And who would have thought that a bald Jeff Bridges would be such a prefect villain. There are a few inside jokes worth looking for like Stan Lee of Marvel Comics fame being mistaken for Hugh Hefner and the limo driver being the film's director John Favreau.
The special effects don't even look like special effects. That's how good this is! Iron man has set the standard for this summer's movies. Definitely go and see it.

I absolutely loved this movie. I would pay to go see it again and it takes a lot to have me sit thru a movie. The action was incredible. The acting was fantastic. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for this role. Even Gwyneth Paltrow was impressive and I am not a fan of hers at all. Jeff Bridges played his part wonderfully. I loved this movie. I loved the message behind it. I loved that it was action packed but not over the top. I even found myself yelling out loud throughout the movie with many of the audience members. One of the more entertaining movies I have seen in a while!

Was this a good movie? Better than many. Robert Downey, Jr. knows a thing or two about acting and can deliver a line with the best of them. Casting Bridges as the villian was a little weird but not a deal-breaker. This was not up there with "Batman Begins", however, and probably will not be up there wth "Dark Knight". Cutting thirty minutes out of it would have helped it a lot. Before you shell out $40.00 on tickets, drinks and popcorn, ask yourself if you are too old to be seeing movies based on comic book characters. If not, then you'll probably be fine. By the way, Gwyneth Paltrow is holding up very nicely, isn't she?

Great fun! Loved the movie and not knowing anything about "Iron Man" I appreciated the time taken to set up the story.
Downey, Bridges, Howard and Paltrow were Fabulous!
Did I mention that Robert Downey Jr. was Amazing? He's like a cat that has many lives, his talent is so fierce that he continually resurrects his career amid all his personal issues. I hope that he can maintain after the rush from this film because I hope to see him on the big screen more often!

overall the movie was awsome!the graphix were solid the story was well put together and it followed the iron man story well what i loved about it was the humor of it all and how they give u a hint on how there's gonna be a sequel to it the actors did well together and robert downey Jr. did good on this comeback i believe......all in all its a good movie and i recomend it to everyone

Yes, it is a corny review title but seriously. This was a really good movie. Robert Downey Jr may have had his setbacks in his personal life but it doesn't take away from the fact that he is a darn good actor. I was very impressed. Not usually a big fan of Gwenyth, I truly was struck by her in this movie. She's a supporting role, the ever present pretty girl in a superhero flick but she gives Pepper Potts more depth. She was believable. All in all, I loved this movie. I would definitely recommend it to people who love a good action flick, or a classic superhero movie ... and I would love to go and see it again!!!

I went into this movie with mixed expectations and at the request of my 12 year old son only to end up very pleasantly suprised. Great action sequences, good sci-fi, interesting story line and good acting. The whole family can enjoy this movie. I recommended it to my niece and she now wants to see it again for the second time. Must See on the big screen!

Just like Spiderman and Fantastic Four, Iron Man is a must see. I don't care too much for Robert Downey Jr. but in this movie he was awesome. Not only did it start off with action right from the beginning there were many humorous parts in the movie. My kids and I all enjoyed the movie. Can't wait for the sequel.

I was not to exicted to see this movie. I thought it would be a little hokey. I was very wrong it turned out to be a very exciting movie and not hokey at all. What a grand entry into the comic book movie genre. Having itself become a sort of sub-genre of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre it's nice to see a movie with great balance of staying true to the inspiration and becoming original and fun for non-comic readers. Downey Jr. is one of the best cast roles in any comic book movie. He is pitch perfect as the insatiably auspicious, playboy genius Tony Stark. With the right amount of arrogant confidence and sarcastic wit he is a great representation of a man who takes full advantage of his billions of dollars yet finds himself seeking to help others. Opposite of Bruce Wayne's front of enjoying his billionaire status Stark not only enjoys it but enjoys it over dramatically due to his having everything he could ever ask for. The supporting cast is wonderful as well, with Howard, and Paltrow doing wonderful in their representations of the friendships with the slightly neurotic Stark. Howard plays Colonel Rhodes very well, with his responsibility a sharp contrast to Stark's "go-with-the-flow" attitude. The character's drinking problem was subtly hinted at and played off well. Paltrow is a wonderful Pepper Potts, Stark's right hand woman, with her clarity of vision and underlying loyalty never for a second overplayed or underplayed. You can tell the feelings between them run deep, and the chemistry between Stark and Potts is great. Bridges is fantastic as Obadiah Stane, with his sinister villainy appearing slowly throughout the arc of the film.
The plot is well progressed and moves along at a great rate. For being a little over two hours long it didn't feel that long at all. In fact it felt just right. I'm glad for that, sometimes comic book movies either are over way too fast and you feel like you were a bit jipped or they drag on, like X-Men 3. ILM never ceases to amaze with their spiffy looking special effects. From the first crude suit to the wonderful Mark 3 he pilots at the end of the film. The conversations between Stark and his robots was great. The transition from a real Jarvis to a computerized version of the butler worked well. I also think it was a good choice since Batman has Alfred another cool butler would look like a slight rip off even if that's not the case. The weapons were cool, and realistic enough to not make you lose interest. All in all a very solid film in general.
Spoiler Section: The references to the Mandarin are subtle enough for fans to enjoy without beating people over the head with them. As a fan it was very evident that "The Ten Rings" had more meaning than a simple terrorist cell, as well as the prominence of the ring on the leaders hand and the references to the Mongol empire. Samuel L. Jackson is great as Nick Fury S.H.I.E.L.D.'s head of operations, any fan will know that in the Ultimates it's quoted that if they ever made a movie about the Avengers Sam Jackson would play Fury, who is drawn to look like Jackson in the Ultimates mythos. I think Marvel Studios has finally gotten a handle on making good comic films...we'll see how this new Hulk movie stands up to the wonders of Iron Man. I would say this is the best Marvel movie made thus far, surpassing even Spiderman 2. If Hulk is good, then I can't wait for Thor and Captain America and once they have those, an Avengers movie will in fact be possible. That could be pretty dang sweet.

This was a pretty good movie for Robert Downey, Jr. who is a very good actor. I think everyone who likes Marvel Comics should go see it. Terrance Howard was very good as a staunch Military Man. It was nice seeing Jeff Bridges again even though he looked funny without hair and a beard. Gwyneth Paltrow was fair, but not bad. She looks good as usual. Iron Man will most likely be in the lead for the summer movies this year.

First time I go to the movies and I can say this was a movie well worth to pay to watch. Robert Downey Jr. was definitely born to be "IRON MAN" I love his sarcasm threw out the whole movie he was so funny and the action was fantastic and awesom (like my son would say). It was my son's 8th birthday and we took friends and family members from 7 - 35 to see the movie and we all enjoyed it. The kids were quiet and intrigued throughout the movie.
Robert Downey Jr. was wonderful in this role and Gwyneth Paltrow was perfect for her role as well.

This is an incredible film. Special effects are off the meter. Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect Tony Stark. His own charecter issues go a long way in making Tony's charecter issues believable. perfect actors for the roles. Gwyneth Paltrow is smoking.
