Downey is special as Tony Stark. With just the right mix of humor and guile, humility and bravado, he exemplifies what the super-hero genre is all about. Paltrow is a sweetheart with an innocent demeanor and a killer bod. With Bridges as the nasty 180, the movie grabbed me from the start and never let me go,,,even thru the end of the credits! Let's Go Avengers !!

It captured Iron man's origin percisly, and it's action packed. If there's a sequil there should be an Iron Man villain such as Fin Fang Foom or the Mandarin.

I saw Iron Man over the weekend and it knocked my socks off! Now I can't say that I'm big on comic books I can really only judge this film as it stands on its own. Loved the writing, loved the look, flawless effects (provided by ILM of course), and perfectly paced. Hats off to Jon Favreau for directing one fine superhero movie. —excerpted from my blog

This really was a great movie in all aspects- Direction- Acting and they did well with sticking with the story line. Not to mention Robert Downey has tremendous talent that shows throughout the movie and Gwyneth Paltrow makes up for all the Mary Janes of the world. ( For all the spidey fans out there that was not a knock against the movie I just didn’t like Kristen that much). I highly recommend this movie and just a warning.....WATCH THE CREDITS ROLL...you never know what might happen : )

I was waiting to see if RDJ could pull off being Tony Stark and he did in spades. He made Stark come to life in a great performance. Gwyneth Paltrow played Pepper Potts to a tee. I so did like the take out the trash line. My only complaint was the soft voice used by Terrence Howard as Rodney's voice should have been more manly.
If you have to see one movie this year, Iron Man is the one.
Great action, lots of humor, and a great plot. Overall the movie was in line with the comic book, although they did update it a bit and included Obie Stane.

Going in I was a bit worried, but within minutes my eyes were glued to the screen. Iron Man is a must see for all, even if you do not know Iron Man from the comics or the show. Amazing effects and great acting by all makes you wish you were Iron Man himself!

I'm not a real comic fan, nor do I know anything about the Iron Man universe, but this movie makes me wonder about what I've been missing!
This was a great introduction to the IM universe because we get to see the complete process of Stark becoming Iron Man. Part of the charm was the step-by-step process not only of Stark's character development, but also of how the suit comes together a bit at a time.
There were so many good laughs, jokes, and even slapstick scenes that help lighten up the darker parts. Robert Downey Jr. was just fantastic in this movie, and just steals the show from the special effects. Wonderful supporting cast helped make this a very enjoyable movie, which is why I've already seen it twice.

This is a good movie but it seems like it was made so that parts 2 and 3 could follow. It was introducing Ironman. Could have been a little more action but it did keep my interest. Can't wait for the sequel!

When I saw the previews, I was really hoping that they didn't hype it up and I was going to be disappointed...I wasn't! It was amazing!

Best Comic Book movie ever made. Pay attention, though. Genre used as a platform to inspect very important social issues. My understanding is this has always been a primary purpose of comic books. I'm not a comic afficianada, but know lots of smart geeky boys who like to "school" me. The world of COMICS and the world of TOPICAL REALITY are blended in a subtle dance. You have to be as smart as Favreau to catch this. If you're not as smart as Favreau, one of two things will happen: 1) you will enjoy the movie immensely; 2) you will write a review that complains that the movie is slow in parts, or unrealistic about the Mideast or some other nonsense like that. Bottom line: Go see the movie. Treasure everything, every moment, every line. I live for 2010.

It was my birthday and I really didn't want to go see it, but my children kept begging me. Boy! I am glad that they did. I forgot what great of an actor Robert Downey Jr. was and Jeff Bridges, I almost didn't recognize him. Of course Terrence Howard's work is always excellent. There is nothing to say about this movie but go and check it out, it's worth every penny. Transformers watch out!

Marvel's crown jewel Iron Man lives up to the hype. Visually stunning and Robert Downy Jr gives a performance of a life time and brings real acting to a super hero movie. Marvel has been consistant with making the transition from comic to big screen in a way that I thought I would never see. Movies like this make you want more and before the credits rolled at the end, I was already screaming for part two. I can't believe Stan Lee and his heroes are still a part of my life. Well Done!!!!

I can honestly say they didn't screw this one up. Like everyone else, I was REALLY looking forward to this movie and it was awesome at every second of the film. The story, cast, and animations were just absolutely phenomenal! Robert Downey Jr. outdid himself with this one. Would definitely pay to seeing this movie again!

I went to the theater thinking it would be good movie, and it turned out to be great. I haven't seen a flick this good since the Matrix. It did a great job pairing a good plot and story line with action. I've never paid to go see a movie in a theater twice, but I'm considering it with this one. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I have read Ironman for yars and even have the animated movie put out by Marvel comics. I was expecting most of the big screen one to be the same as the animated one. I was wrong. There were a lot of rather unbelievable things in the animated one that didn't make it to the movie but without too much loss. They would have been too hard to visualize anyway. The movie was great, great action and I haven't seen Jeff Bridges do so well in years! I especially liked Stan Lee's cameo in this pic as well!

This is why Jon Favreau is the man. I don't know if he chose the cast or not, but the entire movie was exquisitely directed, written, character-driven, acted, hilarious, human, pretty much everything a movie should be. The portrayal from every actor (actress) was flawless. The action seens were amazing, special effects prestine. Plus its a superhero movie - probably the best of its genre yet.
In closing, go see it! You will be on the opposite spectrum from dissapointed - i guess that's reappointed?
