I had not wanted to go to another Batman type movie. My sons and husband talked me into it. I was amazed at how much I liked it. Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect choice for Iron Man. Gweneth was very believable in her part and Beau Bridges was great, too! It took me a while to catch on that it was him. The action and technology is what drew my kids and Iron Man's reason for doing what he did was what got me. Can't wait for the next one. The only bad thing was that the movie was packed - we got there just as it started - we had to sit on the side of the front row and things were somewhat distorted. My recommendation - get better seats!!

I went with my uncle and 12 year old cousin (girl), and they both loved it. Anyone who enjoys action and some dry humor will love this movie. Better than I expected.

I wasn't expecting much, just the same old action hero format. I was suprised to find this movie topical, cool, almost realistic! Robert Downey Jr. has really shown his potential. I wanted to clap at the end. The special effects were great without being too over the top.

I loved the movie, but want to add to the reviews I read by stating that this movie is not appropriate for children 12 and under. I grow weary of the movie industry taking a children's animated story, and filming it for adults. This just confuses the children who don't understand why they aren't allowed to see a movie (Transformers being another example of this). There was no need for even the briefest s.e.x. scene presented in the movie - it would have been a great movie without it, and you probably would sell more tickets to parents of younger children if it were not included.

I thought this movie was very good. The beginning I felt was a little slow but well worth the wait. RDJr is awesome. I never thought of him as the super hero type but he was excellent and Jeff Bridges as the villain wow! The action, the humor and special effects well balanced. It was the perfect movie for the entire family and all ages.

This movie does not disappoint. It is the blockbuster that they have been promising us for months! The graphics are awesome! Be prepared to be amazed. Also make sure to stay until after the credits because there is a special scene at the end that helps develop the sequel!

What a show...great leading characters, the flying and combat scenes were incredible, made you feel like you were there...it's been a long time since I've been at a movie where people actually clapped and hooted...very engaging and enjoyable...I'll definitely see it again.

A Superhero movie that is smart, extremely entertaining, great but not over used and abused special effects makes this time a really good entertainment.Robert Downey Jr.'s acting is great for this film. It is glib and laced with humor. Downey makes the superhero a real person. I reccommend this for the whole family and with children at least 10 to attend. There is violence, but most of hard violence is off screen. Have fun watching this film. Stay for a little surprise when the credits end. This is a real treat for the sequal.

Very
well played. Robert Downey is very much the overly-wealthy playboy and
plays it to a T. Paltrow is flawless, and as lovely as ever. Bridges is
decietful, sneaky, and magnificent... the villan you love to hate.
Graphics are VERY well done, couldn't ask for more.
If you are an Iron man fan from the comic books, if you just vaguely
remember him, or if you have (or are) a child between the ages of 5 and
85 you have GOT to see this movie.
My only downside... could have done without the blood splatter in the
first 10 minutes... one long blink takes that out of the picture
GO SEE IT... I did... twice!

A great movie to start out the summer with. Iron man steals the show right away. The cg is extremely believable and the actors integrate with the cg very well. Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark very well. He adds the perfect amount of comedy and drama to his role. Although some of the technology should have explained a little more Jarvus (the computer) and the other technology is very believable. Overall the action and comedy is perfectly mixed to create a memorable film. NOTE. After the credits is a short clip of the next iron man movie.

Effects are very cool, Robert Downey, Jr. is perfect as Stark. He IS Tony Stark. Absolutely no disappointments. Definitely not a wait-for-video movie, even if Ironman isn't your favorite superhero. If you liked Transformers, you will love Ironman.
The credits are a long sit, but stay through them. You won't regret it.

Iron Man (starring Downey Jr, Paltrow, and Bridges) is easily one of the hottest movies to see this summer. I was impressed with the ease in which Downey Jr was able to play the part of Tony Starck, and the special effects were done so precisely that you never felt like they were being shoved down your throat. Very nicely done. Another great Marvel moment!

I was skeptical at first because I thought it was too good to be true. My favorite super hero on the big screen. I WAS BLOWN AWAY! This movie rocks above and beyond all others. Iron Man is up there with Transformers and I Am Legend. Wonderful actors, wonderful special effects, and I loved the perfect blend-in with computer graphics and real life. I recommend this to anyone who loves an awesome movie!

You wouldn't think of Robert Downey, Jr. in this role but when you see this movie, you can't imagine any one else in this role. Part biography, part social commentary, this movie is all adrenaline rush with quick, witty dialogue and very funny physical comedy. Robert Downey, Jr. nails each and every part of this movie from a buff bod to having hilarious conversations with his robots. Paltrow and Bridges are pitch-perfect in their supporting roles. Definitely see this movie and see it in high-def.

don't get me wrong xmen 3 and spider-man 3 were good, but this movie reminds me of seeing the first x-men and spider-man movies when i was younger. the hint of movies to come just make this movie even better.

I have to say, being a comic-book geek (& I say that proudly!) that Favreau did a fantastic job sticking to comic-related themes. Special effects were great, Downey really sold me as Tony Stark, & the rest of the cast couldn't be beat. And the ending...hooo boy, that gave me chills.

I went to this movie only because a friend of mine really wanted to see it. I had never even heard of Ironman before.
so going in with no preconceived ideas of how it SHOULD have been, i was blown away.
the technology was presented in an almost believable way. the characters were well thought out and i found the chemistry onscreen fascinating. and the special effects!! there were one or two scenes that you could really tell it was CGI, but who cares! it was entertaining! it was fun! and totally the worth the price of the ticket!!

Iron Man is the best superhero movie I have seen, because not only did they get the right actor for the superhero, the story was up to par with both hollywood and the comic book.
Robert Downey, Jr. excelled at being Tony Stark and gave life to the man. From watching the movie you could tell Downey's put his heart into the role.
The movie followed the comic book, and what fans would expect from a movie adaptation. There were a couple of things that varied from the comic story and the characterization of Tony Stark, but it was done to bring the movie up-to-date with present world events and technology.
Iron Man proves that Marvel and Hollywood can bring entertaining movies to us without ruining the superhero character or comic book story.
Iron man is definitely a movie I will see again in the theatres, and will want on DVD. It is a good action movie for all ages and is worth the ticket price.

It's been 6 days since I've seen Iron Man & I'm as impressed with it as when I walked out of the theater. It starts out slowly, as it needs to do in order to establish Stark's character [or lack thereof] & show the awakening of a dormant consience. Robert Downey Jr. knows the drunken reprobate inside & out & is able to find humor in it. Gwyneth Paltrow is cooly professional & nurturing at once. The rest of the cast is similarly perfect for their parts. The script covers all of the ground it needs to & throws in extras for the fans. This is one of the top 3 comic book movies ever made & Iam waiting impatiently for #2 in May, 2010.

Ironman was my favorite comic superhero and now Ironman, the movie is my favorite superhero movie. It was, in my opinion, flawless. It didn't go overboard on the CG, as many movies do these days and the cast was perfect. I recommend staying til the end of the credits...there's a little extra scene that you shouldn't miss.
