This was well worth the ticket price. Never having been a follower of Iron Man in the comic book, I didn't know anything about the characters or the story, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It didn't matter. What I saw was a character-driven, action-packed thrill ride that did not disappoint! Definately one to watch.

It's great to see Robert Downey Jr back in the action, and he sure isn't lacking any in this extremely entertaining thrill ride! Packed with action, it's a great modern-day version of the comic with enough plot to keep you guessing. All of the cast is excellent, and it was a real pleasure to watch. Grab your popcorn and go!

I saw this movie at a free screening, and i have to say it's a must see. Great action secenes and dialogue. Even though the movie isn't true to the comic, it was a well written movie. The characters developement were great and connectable. Robert John Downey Jr was perfect for the role of Tony Stark, he made the character believable, sassy and likeable. And there were some funny scenes.
again this is a must see action pack movie, I hgihy recommended. It's definitely worth the moeny; before I saw the screening, my sister and her friends had seen Iron man and liked the movie so must they ended up seeing it a second time.

This movie even if it wasn't based on a comic, is pure fun with very in depth characeters that you can connect with.
The witty banter provided by Robert Downey Jr, is terrific, cleaver and funny. His portrayal as Tony Stark is all I could have ever asked for.
Gwyneth Paltrow's portrayal of his assistant was nothing but remarkable.
Jeff Bridges as a villian was quite refreashing as he did a great job in that role. A role I'm not used to seeing him portray very often.
If you're looking for a movie that not only delivers the action, but riveting dialog and gives you an actual emotional attachment to the characters, then Iron Man is your must see movie this summer.
Even more so than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

this was a good film for several reasons. They incorporated current events that the audience can relate to. The cast did an excellent job. Be sure to stay till the end of the credits for a good surprize.

My husband is a comic book fan, so I knew that I'd have to go see this film. Though I love action/adventure flicks the whole "comic book hero" aspect had me not looking forward to it. Wow! I was totally blown away! The performances by Downey, Paltrow and Bridges were terrific! The action scenes were riveting too, of course, but what surprised me most was how sympathetic I became to Tony Stark. I really came to like, believe in and cheer for his character. Definitely a Must See movie for the summer!

If you like action movies, this is the one to see! The story is amazing and let's face it, the humor in between does not go unnoticed...
I liked everything about this movie; the action scenes, the flirt between Stark and Potts, the villains, the visual and sound effects, and of course loved Robert Downey Jr., he sure made justice to the superhero suit.
Definitely one of the best of the year. I've seen this movie three times already, and I could go one more time!!!
I look forward to the sequel!!!

By far one of the best superhero movies ever. Right next to Spider-man 2 and Batman Begins as the top three. Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant, and John Favreau does an outstanding job making this movie work not only as a superhero movie, but as blockbuster action film with a great story. Simply put it was a lot of fun, and just as good the second time!

I grew up a comic lover as a kid. As an adult I love finding movies that are able to accurately and effectively portray them.
I needed this movie. The makers of this movie do a perfect job with the two allotted hours. Robert Downey Jr. is simply perfect. And so are all the other actors. The absolute best thing about this movie to me, was that the CG did not interfere with the story or seem too "fake" or ridiculous. It simply blended in perfectly.
Though many comic book movies these days are visually amazing and well done, it's hard to find one with such a good story as well, and thus a well rounded action movie.

Ironman is full of action. The movie is even appropriate for children who would not be bothered by the explosions and some violence. There is really no bad language or nudity(a sceen at the beginning is suggestive with nothing actually shown). The effects are great -- and I would love to have his computer systems and house! This is a good family movie for someone with pre-teen children.

Iron Man is great fun. While I've seen many superhero movies I am usually very disappointed in them. Not so with this movie. Action packed with a good story and great actors. The technology featured was new and different. It was actually very funny and a lot of fun to watch. Love Robert Downey Jr. and he never looked better.

I loved this movie! Robert Downey, Jr. is perfect as Stark, and Jeff Bridges is having way too much fun playing the bad guy. Even Gwyneth Paltrow shows some warmth. I can't give this a 5 because it just isn't the best movie ever, but I would recommend that you see this movie. In the theatre - don't wait for video!

Characters were well casted, good nemesis (Jeff Bridges), RD was not as edgy as the role required, would've preferred younger hero, loved Gwyneth, portrayed a Ms. Moneypenny type, very in tuned to Marvel comic book character. Story was fast paced with cool armory, although predictable, very entertaining. Great flick to see for pure comic adrenaline

I was very happy with it. The movie was true to the character from beginning to end.And Robert Downey Jr. was perfect as Tony Stark, and not just because they have shared similar vices: It was shocking to me, how much Downey's sense of humor matches so perfectly with Stark's. And even when showing us a serious, determined Tony Stark, Downey hit the nail right on the head. I can't imagine anyone else playing this part. Or doing this well with it. Good for him.
Iron Man's origin story is so simple, so straight-forward, and I was happy to see that they changed very little of it. If it ain't broke, you know. And the Iron Man armor! YES! It was perfect! And every level of it, from the apparatus Tony uses to put the armor on, the boot rockets, the repulsor rays...all of it, perfect, and right in tune with the source material. When Iron Man takes on the terrorists attacking the village, I got a very rare shudder of excitement, the same excitement I felt when Wolverine first plunged his claws into a guy in X2, or the first time I saw Spider-Man swinging from his webs in the first movie. It was the excitement of seeing something I've imagined a thousand times in my mind, big as life on a movie screen, and better than it ever was in my head.
And the most exciting part of the movie isn't even really a part of the movie itself. That after credit sequence is a watershed moment in comic book movies. The thought that al Marvel movies will be connected from here on out? And that this interconnecting continues with The new Hulk movie in June? My mind is blown. I can't wait to see how they do it.

Loved it! Robert Downey Jr is on the come back and looks great. It was nice to see Jeff Bridges not be recognizable right off. It took a minute to figure out he was playing Obidia. Can't wait to see Iron Man 2 and 3 with Samuel L and the rest of the awesome actors and actresses.

This movie brought Marvel Comic's Iron Man legend to life. Despite the fact that the first origin of Iron Man took place in Vietnam, the Afghanistan war scenario works. Tony Stark is still a womanizing, alcoholic and technology genius who specializes in weaponry.
Hence, Iron Man.
There are other deviations from the comics, such as no need to wear the Iron Man chest plate under his clothes and Jarvis is an electronic concierge rather than the butler.
But Pepper Potts is still hot and the movie rocks.

On impulse, my daughter and I bought tickets to "Iron Man," a movie I intended to see but not right that minute. It was amazing. Phenomenal. I loved it. Okay, so I'm an easy sell when it comes to comic book superhero movies and many flawed blockbusters. I'll even admit to having a soft spot in my heart for cheesy B-movies. But "Iron Man" brought Sheta-sock-rocking to a whole new level, a level I hadn't even guessed was possible.
It was the geekiest of all geek movies. The protagonist, Tony Stark, a weapons manufacturer who survives imprisonment in a Middle Eastern war camp and gains a new respect for the killing potential of his weapons, becomes Iron Man to stop the weapons he created from doing any more harm. He has the *sexiest* lab you have ever seen. I'm not kidding. The interactive hologram technology is so cool I thought I was gonna moan aloud. The robots responding to everything he said, no matter how arbitrary, were delightful. And the suit? Oh. My. God.
It walks, it flies, it shoots, it blows things up with sonic something or other, it has a talking computer and he can transfer anything from his home network to the suit, instantly. It has nifty supercar dashboard type graphics that make the Terminator look like 1940 in comparison. He can almost orbit in the thing. He can travel around the world fast enough to rival Superman, and I'm willing to bet he could kick Superman's butt. The suit is fine. I am serious.
Robert Downey, Jr. is a contemporary of mine, in terms of age (I wish I knew him! ha!). I really loved him in the early days of his career and rooted for him all through his battle with addiction. When he finally had to serve prison time and faded from view, I was sad. I am very, very glad to see him making such a hugely strong return in this movie. And just like in the 80s, he is *also* fine. YuuummmMY.
I was trying to think on the way home, and I honestly can't come up with a superhero movie that holds a candle to this. Prior to this, the X-Men were my favorite. "Iron Man" blows them all away. I'm passionately in favor of this movie making a trillion dollars and saving the world. I may lack the ability to spot issues or plot holes when I'm in the throes of technological ecstasy, but I hope I'm never disillusioned with Iron Man, because, um, wow. Just wow. Go see it. Right now.

This movie was good, but all the hype was not warranted. I had multiple friends tell me how amazing it was beforehand, which is never recommended. It wasn't bad, but I wish my friends hadn't said "You have to see it in the theater", because I didn't think it was worth it personally.

One of the better book to screen adaptations. Downey was the right choice, who no’s booze better then him. One down side should have ended with the full version of "Sabbath’s Iron Man" as loud as possible.

while this movie promised alot it rarely delivered it lacked a plausiable back story which showed in the producers continually melding dead end scenes together in order to segway into the next scene which left the audience feeling rather blase about the quickly thrown together plot and quicker outta nowhere
climax which it seemed to the folks around mysection evidenced by the oft heard phase
''is that it'' so hopefully sequel will be better as you can bet with 100+million already counted its coming

I was impressed with the movie. I took my three sons to the movie - and although a little worried about it being PG-13 (they are 6-12), there was only one scene that made me question the rating and only a few bad words. The movie was very good and had a great plot and good action scenes.
I would recommend this movie to anyone - well worth the money!
