Great selection of actors. Their interactions demonstrated a perfect match. The story of the movie grasped my attention from beginning to end. This is a movie that offers a mixture such as love, laughter, friendship, a well-written story line, and action. The story of this movie shares the reality of problems in our world, and there is a chance for a better place. Ironman was able to do to the terroist that a lot of us would love to have the opportunity to do. You Go Ironman! Awesome Movie!

This is one of the better comic book movies in awhile. Wasn't familiar with the character to begin with but was interested enough because it was another Marvel comic based movie AND the fact because of who the leads in the film are - Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow- all in all a very enjoyable film. I think you don't have to be a comic book fan to appreciate the story. Highly recommended! and worth seeing more than once

This movie was excellent. Get there early though ... the seating selection was very limited at the theater. I can understand why it was so crowded considering this movie is better than the previews.
Enjoy! Oh yeah and after all the credits play at the end of the movie there is a little bit more that plays, perhaps suggesting another movie... stick around and watch it.

This movie was not just action-packed with awesome special effects.. it was also intelligently written, well-acted and had very good pacing. I was not disappointed, I can't wait to see it again (probably on Blu-Ray)!!

I was looking forward to seeing this movie and I loved it. Like most marvel movie the last scene at the end of credits give you a glimpse of the next movie. Seeing Samuel Jackson as NIck Fury was a nice touch.

At first I was kind of skeptical to go see this movie but my boyfriend dragged me anyways... glad that he did because this movie was REALLY good. Loved all the action, humor, graphics, etc. The robots were so cute;) And I'm glad to Terrence Howard play a good guy role and not get killed.. Can't wait to see the sequel!

I'm so glad this movie wasn't made a few years ago or some of the effects would've really been lame. The action was fun and non-gratuitous and there was tons of stuff to keep fans of the comic happy. If you stay until the end of the credits, you'll get even more! So cool!
Also, one can only expect so much character development in an action movie but it did a great job of doing that to an acceptable level too!

Enjoyed this film much more than I thought I would. I would highly reccomend it to people that enjoy action films. Geared towards the comic book crowd, this film has more than enough to keep those who know little of the Iron Man story arc involved.

True to the Ironman history, while updating to the modern world. For example the creation of Ironman sequence really felt the same as when I read the comic all those years ago. I had real doubts about Robert Downey Jr, as Tony but he really "got it". Of course Gwyneth Paltrow can just appear and I'll like it, but she also brought something very special to her role, the interaction between and Downey had "chemistry".

Besides the fact that Robert Downey JR. is an awesome actor, this movie played the " Iron Man" concept exceptionally well. You don't have to be a comic book fan to enjoy this film. Highly comical, full of action and the digital effects are very believable!

Robert Downey Jr did a great job and may be the best choice ever for a super hero. We saw the digital presentation and it was the clearest movie I've ever seen. Stick around after the credits for a surprise!!

I have been a fan of iron man over the years and i am glad that when the movie came out it was a true movie about IRON MAN and as for the cast you could never ask for a better tony stark Robert Downey jr. was excellent to say the least

In the original 1960s Stan Lee comics, Tony Stark is captured in the Vietnam War and commanded to build weapons (he’s a genius); instead, he makes a magnetic chest plate (to keep a piece of shrapnel from piercing his hear) and a suit of armour and escapes. When he returns to the United States, he becomes a superhero. With few adjustments (the war is moved to Afghanistan for modern audiences), this is what happens in “Iron Man”, the first full-length film adaptation to feature the weapons-magnate-turned-philanthropist.
But you needn’t be a fan of – or even familiar with – the character to enjoy the movie. With acting credits on dozens of unexciting movies (without explosives, intelligent gadgets, or gravity-defying anything), Jon Favreau is a surprising natural at directing all the action that goes into “Iron Man”. And as for Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. couldn’t be more perfect because of, well, his imperfection; heroes are a lot more interesting when they’re human (think Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow).
There’s a bonus scene after the credits if you’re willing to stick around. It won’t spoil the surprise to say it’s a sequel teaser; “Iron Man 2” has a tentative release date of April 30, 2010.

Iron Man is diverting and fast-moving, with a nice touch of humor and some slick cgi. However, the story was slow at times, tending to focus too much on the technical problems of building the suit. It seemed more like a prequel than a proper action vehicle. Worse, the plot was overly complicated. I never understood exactly who the middle eastern villains were - descendants of the Mongols and Genghis Khan? So many of them were killed - it seemed to create a muddled sense of right and wrong. Did they really deserve to die? Other things were poorly explained. The rather cliche character of Tony Stark's business partner, who takes over the company, was never fully established, even though he was the main villain. His motivations were fuzzy. Tony Stark's alcoholism (from the comic books) was hinted at, but didn't figure in the plot. His romance with Gwyneth Paltrow was paltry; she seemed like a devoted employee more than a lover. Tony Stark's transition from an arrogant and unscrupulous entrepeneur to a good-hearted character was altogether too fast. In spite of an excellent cast, the film was marred by a very busy and muddled story.

What a pleasant suprise!!! I was only going so that my son could see it and it turns out I was entertained too!!! The plot as well as the action were engaging. I would've loved to have seen more ot Terrence Howard (have mad crush on him). A must "go see twice".

As soon as I saw the trailer, I was ready to see
this movie and I wasn't disappointed! It was a great storyline, great acting, great humor and great special effects. Rober Downey, Jr. did a spectacular job and deserves every accolade that he receives. Jeff Bridges was great, as was Gwyneth P. and Terrance H. Go and see this film---you'll be glad you did. I didn't have especially high hopes for this film.
I can tell you that I was blown away by it, and highly recommend seeing it in the theater.
From the soundtrack to all the effects, it's a great movie. Robert Downey, Jr. is pretty darned good in this role, which was another surprise.
This film is NOT for children that are under 11 or 12.
Go see it, rock out, and have a good time.

Ok, I admit I've been a comic book fan pretty much all my life. I've always loved stories about people with extraordinary abilities and the challenges they face both in their "normal" and "hero" identities. And of course the classic Good vs Evil (or misguided) struggle has always been fun for me. That being said, it is my opinion that Iron Man was exceptionally well done. The leads do a great job, the back story is compelling, the action is cool and the special fx are stellar. My wife, who has never been a comic book reader, loved the movie. If you enjoy a good story with great action, put this on your must see list!

PRO: Special effects!
CON: Accented an eeeevil "military industrial complex". Even the soldiers and top brass were portrayed as buffoons. But, I wasn't surprised once I read that Michael Moore was Assistant Director in the credits.
NEUTRAL: I did not expect any realism in the plot, as it was a comic book character come to life. A hint of realism would have made better.

This was awesome fun, good special effects and a nice job of telling the story. If you aren't a fan of comic books made into movies this isn't going to change your mind, but Robert Downey Jr.'s performance is always worthy of the price of a ticket. Like X-Men, the first one has to spend a lot of time on setting up the characters. Look for any sequel to be even better.

I initially thought this is a movie that I could take it or leave it. My son wanted to see this movie & I took him. I am glad that I did! This movie is more human than any of the other super hero movies. The actors really make you feel for them, not to mention make you feel like Iron Man could really happen. Robert Downey Jr is better than he has ever been. This is definately his comeback movie. Iron Man is one of the best for 2008.

Robert Downey, Jr. was perfect and all it took was a cartoon super hero to bring him out. Jeff Bridges was great as usual. Gwyneth Paltrow was beautiful and vulnerable. The action was great, unbelievable, funny, and the whole show was a wonderful escape. Only 1 criticism. Is the only requirement to show intimacy mumbling? I realize the movies are pandering to the younger crowd but don't leave us out of the fun by mumbling as if you have a secret you don't want share with the more mature audience.

I was definitely not disappointed after watching this movie! The relevant storyline, action packed scenes, and numerous comedic moments in the movie made it a pleasurable experience to say the least. Rober Downey Jr. did a great job playing the role of Tony Stark. His swagger was an ideal fit for the main character in the movie. A must-see film for 2008.
