it was great, it had a good story,action,comedy,
and left me wanting to know what was next plus it hinted at an avengers movie.The only thing is you have to sit through all the credits to see sam jackson who plays nick fury but it was well worth it I will be seeing this again.

I have not been this entertained at a movie in a while....as far as storyline goes, you can kind of follow it through and know what's coming next....but you won't know HOW they will show it and that is where the beauty lies in this movie....Holy special f/x!!!!
What I could have done without is the final fight with the huge thing...it was very Transformer-ish, but it did not take away the entertainment value and amazing rendering of the movie!
GO SEE IT!
BTW - if you are a DC comics fan, stay after the credits, there is a little teaser you might like = )

You won't get bored watching Iron Man, but you won't be interested either. Except for a slow period in a cave, the movie blasts its way to a hackneyed ending. The love story has as much tension as a loose rubber band. You know it's nascent, but no one's stretching it. I grow weary of Hollywood's weak attempts to overlay a trite love interest on these kinds of films, to attract a female audience. It's as dumb as adding Iron Man action to Bridgette Jone's Diary. There are some very funny parts, especially the cameo by Stan Lee. The line "you've caught me doing worse things than this" is delivered perfectly. I laughed till it hurt. Stan Lee succeeded in making an irresponsible, billionaire, playboy into a sympathetic figure. Downey fits the role. He's funny and convincing. Overall the acting is excellent. It's all that holds the movie together. Jeff Bridges is truly amazing. The music is brilliantly done. I'm definitely buying the soundtrack.

Iron Man was the best movie this year. I know that with classics such as Indiana Jones, Narnia, Speed Racer and Dark Knight coming out, it will have some competition, but for now...best movie by far! Robert Downey, Jr. was a perfect cast for this movie! He brought humor and style to the screen like no one else would be able to do. Gwyneth Paltrow was an amazing supporting actress, Action was great! Effects were awesome, and the script was pure genious. Also, don't forget to watch the tease at the end of the credits! Truly, a must see!

Midnight show was packed with comic book fans, and fans of Robert Downey. The energy was amazing and the movie lived up to everyone's expectations. The CGI was flawless and the action, story live and acting were great. I hope you remember to stay till the end of the credits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the Best Superhero Movies

A really fun and fast movie. Though the special effects are incredibly good (which surprised me, I've seen a lot of really poor CG stuff lately) what really makes the film work is the performances. Robert Downey Jr. is absolutely pitch-perfect as the hero and the supporting cast are all great, too.
The final battle could have been a bit longer after all the build-up but the very end of the film, specifically the final line, is fantastic and promises great things in the sequels.
I'd say this on par with the best of the superhero flicks, so...on the same level as X-Men 2 and Spider-man 2.

If you are a fan of tons of actions and love the bass vibrate your heart during the movie, this is it.
Robert Downey Jr. did an awesome job being Tony Stark. Acting over all was great. Story line (well no original) was over all good and not distracting. Cinematography was amazing, good job with angles and lightning. Script was very good, not over whelming for the type of movie and enough comedy to smooth out the edges. Graphics and sound blew me away, if you like Audi (oh yes they funded this movie well) or American muscle car like Dodge Charger SRT8 and want to feel like driving that, this movie will give you an experience. PS. I guess you should stick around for credits.
Over all it is a good family movie for everyone, lots of fun, explosions, technology, and sprinkled with romance and humor. This is a good movie to start summer with. I would very much recommend the Movie Iron Man to anyone.

Ever been disappointed by a comic book movie? Spiderman let you down? Fantastic 4 made you sick?
Well rest easy my comic book loving friends, because Jon Favreau has ridden in as a knight in shining armor to save the day. What about those of you who don't care about comic books, but just like good movies? You're safe too.
I won't go into details regarding the plot, background, or spoilers. Those can be found elsewhere. Instead, let us talk about the other things that make this movie the Marvel Comics hit of the decade.
Acting: It is superb. Period. Sometimes it is hard to not be cheesy as an actor in a comic book movie. Downey, Jr, Bridges, Paltrow, et al. deliver the cheeky and, at times sincere, dialog not with the zest of Shakespearean stage actors but like modern day "any body's". They were believable.
Directing: Heck, it's Jon Favreau. It was spot on. Perfect. In this writer's opinion, only Favreau should make comic book movies from now on.
Effects: It's Industrial Lights & Magic (ILM). It looked more real than anything to this point (as it should). Remember, ILM also did most of the Transformers CGI. These guys are pros.
If you read nothing else in this little review, read this line:
SEE IRON MAN! IT IS SUPERB!

Nearly a textbook comic book movie, lots of explosions and not too much plot to get in the way of the action. Manages to be entertaining without going over the silliness line.
The Stark/Potts relationship suffered from a lack of focus. I would have left it out entirely instead of the awkward half-treatment it got.

I was completely blown away by this film. Everything was perfect, from the witty dialogue to the action sequences. Literally everything about this movie was amazing. The only problem I personally had with it was my final thought; "Could this be better than 'Dark Knight' will be?" The possible answer is "yes", and this is coming from a HUGE Batman fan.

I really loved this movie. The story line was wonderful. The only problem I had with it was that anyone can walk into a high tech home such as that of Tony Stark's without verification.
Special effects were great and realistic and for my amazement, it was really funny.

I have been ahuge Iron Man fan since I was a kid. I was worried that the movie would not do justice to the character. I am happy to say that I was wrong. The movie is great. It has a perfect balance of humor, wit, action, and romance. It captures the character of Tony Stark both before and after he becomes Iron Man. I heartily recomend this movie to any comic book fans, but it is so well done, that even people with a li mited exposure to the comic book will enjoy it.
P.S. Stay after the credits for somthing cool!

I'm not a hardcore Marvel fan, I'll admit I never read any of the comics, however that said: Iron Man is the bst Marvel movie to date, it keeps you interested at every shift in the plot, and its well worth sitting through the long credits at the end for a special sneak peak into the second one.

Loved everything about this movie! The story was well written and made sense....it was fun, touching and had lots of action all nicely mixed. I didn't know the Iron Man comic so it was great the way they explained how he came to be. All the characters were brought to life exceptionally well and felt like real people. Everyone in the cast is great. Robert Downey, Jr. portrays the rich, intelligent play boy whose eyes get opened with amazing depth and Jeff Bridges as his partner was fun to watch. I would recommend this movie to everyone!!

A perfect start to the summer blockbuster season. Where normal blockbusters lack a little in quality and go for mass appeal, Iron Man manages to do both. With a good story line and well performed acting, especially Robert Downey JR. who basically made the move, it made this movie very enjoyable. One of the better superhero movies that have been made.

As a mother of 2 boys ages 13 and 6, this was a great movie. An introduction to the youngest child regarding science and technolgy and a review to the oldest of what you can do when you put your mind to it. Both boys loved the special effects and the thrill of the movie. This is truely a family movie..Can not wait for part two to come out in 2010...

At last a movie that answers one of those timeless questions of mankind: What do you do if you're almost killed by a weapon you helped design and are being held prisoner by mercenaries? You enlist the aid of the doctor that saved your life and build a suit of powered armor out of the weapons your captors want you to use to build them the ultimate weapon system.
Or at least that's the plan that Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) comes up with. Tony is the kind of millionaire playboy that I imagine Bruce Wayne would be if the phrase "My parents are dead!" wasn't stuck on an infinite loop in the back of Bruce's head. He frequently is seen with a drink in hand, women at his beck and call, and blowing off appointments with this government contacts to finish working on one of the cars in his personal collection. But three months in a cave with a doctor that describes the effects of Stark's weapons on the people of his innocent village (as well as on Tony) has a way of changing a man's mind. After blasting his way to freedom, Tony doesn't want to design weapons anymore. He goes home and seems to set to work trying to solve the traffic problems of every major city in the world by designing what I would guess to be a 20 billion dollar personal flight suit. It's only after he's reminded that the weapons he has already built and designed that are still out in the world and being used by the bad guys that Stark realizes what everyone that's seen his flight suit already knows: that with minimal modification, he can be a one man army.
Over all, I enjoyed this movie. It's good, but it probably could have been better. When the movie ended, I didn't have the same feeling I had when I walked out of the theater at the end of a film in the X-Men or Spider-man film franchises. Maybe that's because I'm a fan of those series of comics, while I've never really followed any Iron Man stories in the past. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had not seen any of the advertising for this film. While the trailers don't give everything away, you've probably seen a large chunk of the best parts of the action sequences. There was a very nice sense of humor in the film (intentionally; not like Daredevil, which I'm still convinced is a fantastic comedy that the director had no intention of making as a comedy). There were several scenes that were played just for laughs, which are not often done in these kinds of movies.
WARNING: This film contains a post credits scene. Stay until the end of the credits for a Marvel Universe Cameo.
See it: If the trailers have looked good to you, I think you'll enjoy yourself. I myself probably will only go to see this movie again if I'm invited to go see it by a group of my friends.
See it on: I can't think of anything that you would lose by waiting to see this on broadcast television.

This movie was by far the greatest movie in which a comic book hero has been portrayed. This is a must see for any Iron Man or Marvel fan. The story was great and it was action packed and suspensful in the right places. I didn't really go into the movie having much expectation since some previous comic book movies have been okay but not great but I was blown away. Go see it!

There's not much that can be said about this movie that isn't totally obvious, but what the heck. First of all, the actors were terrific; each one giving a memorable performance and contributing in their own way to the story. Secondly, the story itself was very believable and did an excellent job of covering the origin on the character while still getting to the heart of the movie's main plot without making things feel rushed or sloppy. Next, of course, is the special effects. The effects were excellent and implemented well throughout the entire film. There was never a moment where I felt that something looked fake or cheap. This film really spared no expense when it came to visuals. Overall, whether you have been a fan of IronMan for years or coming into the series for the first time, this film delivers on both fronts and leaves everyone wanting more. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes action movies, superhero or otherwise. It was an enjoyable film that really showed how good a superhero movie could be with the right talent behind it. P.S. - You best wait through the credits because they literally saved the best scene for last.

satisfied. highly recommend. Downey Jr. was impressive as Tony Stark and the Iron Man Armor was fantastic. Will see it again. Cannot wait for the sequel.

A serious look at one of Marvel Comics' better known characters. Downey IS solid as Tony Stark whose demons in the comics mirror his own life. This is an entertaining movie from the get-go. The story/action are spread out well along the 2 hour running time. There are no "slow" moments to drag you down. This is also NOT a kiddie movie. The PG-13 rating is pushed to its limits, as some of the action sequences are graphic. I was not a fan of Iron Man, but this movie is a definite pleaser. Fans should stay till the end of the movie for an added treat.
