This movie was very well done. It was over 2 hours and it didn't even feel like. I was very impressed. Just a little tip stay after the credits are done there's an extra scene that i think made the movie.

Get your Iron

Really clever, funny and action packed. At each moment when they could go off a cliff, they made the smarter decision. As I was watching I was seriously hoping there was going to be a sequel. On a 'guy' gut level, it was so thoroughly enjoyable that I'm going to run out and purchase an Ironman t-shirt, so its coolness will be all over me. Hopefully they make Ironman pants as well. Go see the movie.

A New Standard for Comicbook Hero Cinema

Robert Downy Jr. uttered the last line of the movie, the credits rolled, and I jumped out of my seat, pointed at the screen, and exclaimed, "THAT'S how you do that!"
This is a good movie. It proves that a comic book superhero movie doesn't have to be ridiculous or only enjoyable to comic fans. It's witty, deep, a little dark, very action-packed...I haven't been this excited about a movie in a long time.
Product placement was tasteful and discreet, the characters were believable, the story was believable and tied into current events (i.e. the real war in Afghanistan), and there was plenty of comedy and poking fun at itself in a way I did not expect.
You HAVE to see this movie!

I only went because a friend dragged me along. As far as previews, I thought this movie was going to be a joke. Contrary to my prediction, this movie blew me away. Great acting, outstanding graphics, humor, plot, story, etc. People clapped at the end.. that doesn't happen very often. GO SEE THIS IN THE THEATRE! Finally a movie worth $10.

Phenomenal

Honestly, I have been an Iron Man fanatic since my childhood. So, naturally, I knew I would go into this movie and only notice the defects. However, with the adaption of the story to today's culture along with the original storyline concerning the enemy, it was an incredible piece of work. Although, being a fanatic, I noticed a few inconsistencies, I absolutely loved this movie! I would recommend it for anyone, comic fanatic or not.
It is also a fantastic casting choice For Pepper and Tony. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark made everything in life correct. I think he was put on this planet because he IS Tony Stark. It was almost as if Robert wasn't even reciting lines, but just speaking in his own words in response to every other performer. It's was absolutely phenomenal.

Great Cast, Great Directing, Love the witty lines

RDJ's acting skills are amazing...I did geek out about all the comic book references that Jon Favreau included. I would recommend this movie to anyone. it's fun, it's exciting, and of course there are elements of events that are completely off the scope of reality, but what do you expect from a superhero movie?

Iron Man is a completely solid movie

I really hope Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. and pretty much everyone involved gets the recognition they deserve for delivering us what is easily the best superhero movie since Batman Begins.
Here's a superhero movie where characters are the centerpiece before the action is, and perhaps Robert Downey Jr. should have most of the credit for that. In the beginning, he takes what's basically a sexist, egotistical, unresponsible, and general unlikable a-hole, and makes him rather likable. And his later self-reflection and transition into a man and hero who takes responsibillity for what he's done is entirely believable and always injected with humor, despite never treading into camp. It's a very rare thing, a comic book movie with little to no camp. The rest of the cast shines too, all of them play wonderfully other with seemingly no effort and seem to be enjoying themselves.
Jon Favreau also was a great choice for a director, showing a clear focus in pacing from beginning to end (There's a brilliant scene in the beginning where Tony Stark [Downey Jr.] is running away from a war zone. A bomb lands right next to him, and he sees the Stark Industries logo on it right before it goes off). The plot will also surprise you by the end, it's significantly more intelligent and tight than it appears at first. I don't know much about the Iron Man comics, but from what I do know I'd say the film was quite faithful to them. Comic fans should be pleased with this fun rendition of their superhero. They'll probably also appreciate references to War Machine and S.H.I.E.L.D., and of course Stan Lee's token cameo (Jon Favreau also gets a cameo by the way as Stark's driver).
Complimenting everything besides the action isn't to say there's no action and eye-candy here, because there is, and plenty of it. The iron man suit is definitely one of the coolest looking CGI creations ever made, and the action sequences accompanying it are fun, exhilarating, and, you know, kick*ss. But they're here more to support the story, not as much to be the center of attention. But rest assured, Stark does let loose, and the moment when he does will give you chills. Very very very nice chills.
It's hard to list any flaws in an otherwise rather flawless film. I could list the usual problems about it being an origin story and maybe it not getting to have as much fun with itself as it might otherwise, maybe things dragging a bit in the next to last act, but none of that really matters much. The movie and every aspect of it feels refined, and as a whole is simply kick*ss.
It's got great humor (sans camp), awesome action, a talented and unified cast, a phenomenal lead, and a director with a clear focus. The film shines from beginning to Black Sabbath's Iron Man accompanied end (which did I mention the audience clapped in tune to?). It also sets the bar very high which the rest of the summer is going to be very hard-pressed to match, and why are you still reading this? Go see it. Now. Be sure to stick around after the credits.

Best Superhero Movie (from Marvel) in awhile

I highly recommend this movie. As stated in my title, it pretty much saved superhero movies. The last few movies, especially from Marvel, have all been just 'okay' and were nothing really to write home about. This one definately ranks up there with the first two "Spider-Man" movies. The movie is over two hours long but, it really didn't feel like it at all because there was never any dull moment. It still left me wanting more by the end. A note to all who see this movie: stay until after the credits.

I saw this movie last night and think it was fantastic. Lots of great special effects and great story. It was modified from the original comic book, but holds true to its roots. My wife usually doesn't like these comic/movie adaptations. But she thought it was great and was definately worth watching. I will watch it again. 8)

Excellent Summer Opening

I saw this last night at the midnight showing at the local AMC 24. What a great movie ... I will see it again to be sure. I know nothing at all about Ironman in its comic book form, (not a fanboy), so I didnt have to worry about tearing it apart for accuracy like I did Spiderman (which I grew up on and LOVED all of them!). This movie was very good and Robert Downey Jr. made his mark. The effects were fantastic. As computer graphics become more advanced, movies from comics are just awesome. You will really enjoy yourself on this ride, "Ironman" ... have fun, sit back ... and ENJOY!

I am not really a huge fan of the comic-book- come- to- life genre, and generally go to appease my husband. However, I must say, not only does this film personify excellence in its genre, and it simply a wonderful film. The cast is truly outstanding. I am a big Robert Downey, Jr. fan, but probably wouldn’t have given his name a second thought had it come across my desk as the casting agent for this film. Boy, would I have been WRONG. Jeff Bridges is simply wonderful as the villain, and Downey and Paltrow generate real chemistry on screen. Wonderfully snappy dialogue, with a main character in Tony Stark who is actually compelling – you aren’t just enduring him until the next Iron Man scene. I wanted to know more about him. Jon Favreau’s direction is truly exceptional, exhibiting a real “tastiness” and flair that most of the comic book/action films simply don’t. I am very happy to recommend this film to anyone, and I will.

Well Done

A solid cast compliments great writing and special effects in this movie. The storyline was close enough to the original book to please even the most die hard of fans. I was excited about Downey playing Tony Stark, because i knew he could pull of the comic book version of the character, and he did not disappoint.
Special effects were good enough to add realism to the suit. Generated graphics were not over done.
I saw this movie on early premier Thursday night.
This was very very good. Can't wait for the sequel.

Iron Man is a fantastic movie!!! The detail in the suit design and making it all seem perfectly functional and real was done the way every movie should be done. Best Comic Book movie EVER!

This was an extremely satisfying movie. As the title states, this is the BEST superhero/comic book movie ever made IMO. Out of all of the movies coming out this year, this was the one I was looking forward to the most and it did not disappoint. Lots of action and great use of humor during the movie. As some may have said, make sure you stay AFTER the credits. There is a nice little 40sec clip which tells you some very interesting information. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this movie to all!

Just. Wow.

Superhero movies don't get much better than this, folks! I can't yet get my thoughts around this film completely. My head is still swirling, and the adrenaline is still in full effect. This movie is that good. I don't even know where to begin the praise.
I will start with the greatness that is Robert Downey Jr. and his flawless turn as Tony Stark. When I first heard the casting, I knew he was a good choice, but I could not comprehend just how great he was until I actually saw the movie. None better. Remember when they said Tobey Maguire was the perfect choice for Peter Parker? Well, image that mentality with the R.D.Jr./Tony Stark/Iron Man idea, and add more perfection to it. The wit, the fast-paced dialogue, the mannerisms--Downey Jr. encompasses everything, and makes the audience believe his character and his performance beyond any doubt.
Then there's Jeff Bridges. Amazing villainous role for him--ranks as one of the best villain performances in any superhero film. I mean, I'm talking Alfred Molina in Spider-Man 2, or Gene Hackman in the original Superman good--if not better (Okay, not better than Hackman).
Gwyneth Paltrow was a great addition to the cast, though she does get much screen time this time around, the chemistry between her and Downey Jr. is strong and undeniable.
Let the next praises go to Jon Favreau's directorial vision. We knew going in that he could do something with a budget, as he proved with Zathura (his under-appreciated gem of a kid's fantasy epic), but he takes that ability to new and more exciting heights with Iron Man. The key to Favreau's excellent film is balance. Whether it's the informative (but never boring or overlong) origin story vs. the main conflict plotline, the witty comedy vs. the serious tones, the dialogue vs. the action, the character dynamic vs. foundational characteristics, or the action vs. the story--it's all done having achieved an equilibrium that's hard to come by in recent superhero movies. Fantastic Four never had it, Superman Returns was barely lacking it, but still came up short of pulling it off successfully, and the Spider-Man films had it, but then threw it away with the third installment. Favreau keeps the balance throughout, and the feat should not go unnoticed.
The film leaves the audience satisfied, entertained, amazed, and, almost more importantly, reminds us that there are still filmmakers out there who can do this thing right. Do not miss this one.

Great acting. Robert Dawney did the Iron man series proud. The movie had an almost perfect humor placement. The only downside that I saw, was that the music placement cold of been better. Example, They should of had Ozzys' Iron Man playing as he was escaping the cave. I only wish that he did not admit to being Iron Man, however I have faith that they can tie it into the second one.
