this was a good movie. kind of in the new comic book movie genre. character development was good and plot was excellent if a little simplistic. theme of movie was positive. still this movie was worth full price and definitely is memorable. be careful with some of the little ones as there are some strong grownup (the machine wont let me say s*x*al apparently) themes and scenes and violence.

If you are a tech junkie like me, then you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. Iron Man is the coolest super hero because he is just a normal (but very rich..hehe) man enhanced with more tech than you can possibly imagine! I can envision many sequels since, as best as I can tell, the movie takes the suit up to Mark 3 and I think the comic book is up to Mark 21. Great show - take the kids and go see it!

Two words - see it.
Tending more toward the conservative viewer, I would say that the PG-13 rating is spot on! Great casting! My 11-y/o loved it, I loved it. I'd see it again. Can't say enough about this movie, it was definitely worth the money, finally!

Even if you don't know anything about comic books or read this one( as a mature woman like myself hasn't) - GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!
Robert Downey is fantastic in it- his wit and charm comes thru! Very funny, exciting and entertaining. Kudos to the director who brought thru a storyline with the action. Thouroughly enjoyable for all!

This movie has substance. It teaches you that you need to be strong to defeat evil as it is strong as well. It is a well prepared movie that I would definitely watch again. Good acting especially by Robert Downey Jr., he was a natural for the role of Ironman!

I have to say going into the movie with all the hype and the expectation of it being pretty good overall...I was blown away! It was great from the first 5 minutes to the final 5 minutes! Robert Downy Jr was incredible...I was really worried about his role the most. I have to say that the weakest character for me was Jeff Bridges...but as far as I'm concerned he's always been a little bit weak as an actor. That being said, it was a great time. I hope to see it again in the theatre. It was definitely one of the best comic book/superhero movie so far. I would say that it was way better than all of the spiderman movies, and on par with Batman, but I still believe that Batman was a little bit better, but they are both favorites so its hard to choose. Anyways, go see this movie!

"Ironman was absolutley AWESOME!!! Robert Downey Jr. is the PERFECT Tony Stark. As a huge fan of the comic book when I was a kid, (35+ years ago) I have been waiting for this movie to be done RIGHT! Stan Winston out did himself on the animatronics in designing and building the IronMan suit!! Everything was so well done from the realism of the building process, to the modern backstory, to the soundtrack!!! As a visual person it rocked all my senses. ***When the movie ends don't get up and leave!!! There's an extra scene at the end with a cameo that will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!*****"

The only thing I missed was the scene after the credits. There is a scene with Samuel L. Jackson after the credits. So stay in your seats after the movie.

Everyone already knows that guys who were into comic books as children will love this movie. From a female perspective (who only went to see the movie so I can drag him to see Se* and the City in a few weeks) I have to say it was very enjoyable. I expected a whole movie about iron man fighting the bad guy, but it had very funny moments, action packed moments, a love story - the whole nine yards. It was a pleasant surprise. If your husband wants to go see it go ahead - you'll enjoy it and then you can drag him to one of your movies later.

What a great movie. Robert Downey Jr. did such a good job; you really get the feeling that the role is perfect for him. Jeff Bridges is a very believable villain as well. The action for this movie is great, the story is even better. I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone and especially those appreciate the comic book movie adaptations. This is easily one of the best movies I've seen in the last two years.

Very good move with a somewhat solid story line. Downey is great and comes from a nice approachable place. Gwyneth Paltrow is HOT HOT HOT looking but would look better turning it up a notch...if you know what I mean. The guy who shows you how to act is William Hurt...he plays evil to a tee. The real star is the IRONMAN'S computer...knight rider you have met your match!!

what a fantastic movie! favreau really did his homework and this film is every bit the comic it was built from and more with the update! plus... stay to the end of the credits for a cool surprise! (not that you should have to be told to do that anyway... you should want to give credit to those who made a good movie, the end scene is just a bonus)

This Movie was the best!! It was funny, and it also had a lot of action. The theatre was always bursting with laughter, because of how funny it was. I would highly recommend this movie to anybody who likes super hero movies, action movies, or comedies. One thing though, i would think twice about taking children under 5 years, because of how some parts of the movie were. But over all it deserved a 5 star rating like everyone is giving it.

For someone who has never read the comic book, I was able to understand a lot more than I was expecting to. I personally prefer longer movies, so the 2 hour mark was no problem for me. All together, great acting, and a great story. I'd see it again in a heartbeat.

This movie is outstanding. Everything from the cast to the storyline following the comic book was done extremely well. And the reference early on in the movie to a sequel was perfectly inserted. The cast, crew and director should already be filming (not writing -but filiming) the next installment of IRON MAN

It is the best of the modern superhero movies to date. The story line was updated (originally Iron Man was created in Viet Nam) but the movie and Characters were true to the original comic books. The story was logical, "real" and believable, even though it was a science fiction character. Glad to see the director used real suits and models and used CGI sparingly - a discerning eye can see that even the best CGI has that "fake" look and detracts from the film (that's why Star Wars Episodes 1,2, and 3 were bad). The two hours flew by. I loved Spider-Man comics as a kid, all 3 Spiderman Movies were terrible, this movie was miles ahead of the Spiderman movies. Only one fault, that didn't really take away from the quality of the movie (but was a big let down), was the last sentence Robert Downey Jr. utters in the actual movie (not the epilogue after the credits). Don't want to spoil it, but it is a problem that can easily be fixed in the next movie. The sentence is probably a result of the current state of Marvel Comics. Marvel Comics were the gold standard of comics from the 60's into the 90's, but their comics suck now - they have stupid story lines now and their characters and stories are not dramatic, so they make up for it by making stupid, drastic changes in the story lines on a constant basis, which makes you not care about the characters and the titles. The revelation at the end of the movie takes a lot of the mystique away from the character; it could cause the character to lose some of its excitement and interest if it is not fixed in the sequel.

I was leary about sitting through 2 hours of yet another marvel re-inactment of loved comic book characters. However, I was pleasently surprised by this take on Ironman. To be honest I didn't know I would love Robert Downey Jr. as much as I did. He pulls off the aloof billionaire turned badass hero really well. I found myself sympathizing with Tony Stark, getting frustrated alongside Pepper Potts, and loving to hate Obahdiah Stane. Great movie can't wait for the sequel. ;)
