I had very high expectations for the movie and I still felt surprised at how good it really was. The action and special efx will make any movie watcher happy, but they pale in significance to the more subtle details of the movie. The story in of itself was great and twisting, but the character development and underlying theme of psycho-analysis were the stars of the show. There were many provacative ideas and themes present throughout from the esoteric comparison of the perfect man (Dr. Manhattan) to the imperfect yet identifiable Rorschache. Throughout the entire movie a misanthropic optimism gave viewers something to savor, ponder, and relish. I saw the movie last night and haven't stopped talking or thinking about it.
One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Every aspect of this movies is amazing. The plot is interesting and twists throughout. The cinematography is breathtaking (especially the scenes filmed in IMAX). Heath Ledger gives one of the best performances I've EVER seen. The only negative I have of the entire movie is Maggie Gyllenhall...she really is the wet blanket. I cannot praise this movie enough.
