I thought this movie was clever and humerous. My three kids loved it. The story was constructed very much like Greek Mythology, where the characters are all flawed, but overcome their flaws and make the right decision. I liked the message. Might be a bit scary for the younger kids (3-4).
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I will go so far as to say the best superhero film to date. Not recommended for young children, but I was mesmorized by the story, the acting, the new bat technology, and of course, the joker. What a great written villian. It saddens me that Heath Ledger passed on so prematurely. His performance was worth the price of admission. Highly recommended.
