The Lord of Chaos

I don't know how he did it but Mr Ledger managed to embody the whole history of The Joker, The Fool and The Trickster and probably every violently mislabeled "psychotic serial killer" the world has ever seen. He made tangible the sickening and terrible attraction of the Lord of Chaos. The films is Mr Ledger's.
Without him The Dark Knight would have been another, I'm sure, very successful Summer blockbusting, violent, action bolstered, explosion fired, hallucination CGI fueled and stunt man's dream.
With him, it is the best movie ever made.
It is his film.
My questions:
How can they follow this?
Who can fill those enormous Clown Shoes?
I have my suspicions that this will be possible: they will follow it; someone else will give us their best shot; but it will have been Mr Ledger's absolutely truthful an fearless performance that will have inspired.
Incidentally, Jack has been very quiet about all this hasn't he.
