Anyone who compares this new Terminator movie to the previous ones is missing the point. There's a huge jump in time between this movie and the others. It's not all about a solo terminator chasing John Connor endlessly. It's essentially a guerrilla warfare flick and Connor isn't even the main character, Marcus Wright is. I believe this is the beginning of a new but very different trilogy. If you're into the Terminator lore and mythology you will enjoy this movie; if you're a nitpicking geek that looks too hard, you will not. I don't see how everyone could love Star Trek despite it's many flaws, but just dump all over Terminator Salvation.
The music was VERY poorly done, while I like all of the songs they did not flow well with the atmosphere of the movie and distracted the viewer from what very little actually happened in the movie to begin with. To me it should have been an all instrumental track to keep the mood.
I could have lived without seeing's Dr. M's junk in every scene he was in, that got a little ridiculous after a while.
The real problem I have with this movie may just be inherent to the graphic novel itself, but I generally love dark movies and especially comic book inspired ones, but this one just didn't strike me as all that great.
