Avatar is a representation of the operations that our militaristic government, which is controlled by the most financially profitable corporations, performs throughout the world (example: Iraq for oil). I am ecstatic that James Cameron has chosen to relay his message via a "major Hollywood production." The medium label of “boring documentary” dilutes most movies that carry such a profound message, by only appealing to a niche group of people that have already received their message. I know that Avatar is effectively reaching a diverse audience, and as a result more people are realizing that our consumer-based society causes unnecessary suffering in the world. Please consume less, so that others may at least have the bare essentials to live.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
