Director Danny Boyle has a great sense of cinematic style, and a boundless range of imagination. 'Slumdog Millionaire' ranks high in his accomplishments. Applying his vision into the slums of Mumbai is inventive, as well as eye-opening to the poverty common among India's massive population.
Those familiar with the 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' game show (its format seems to be identical all over the globe!) will enjoy the interlaced drama invoked by the trivia questions asked.
Even if the coming-of-age story seems cliché, this film is drenched with charm and even in its darkest moments, the picture expresses an undying spirit of hope. Still, if you didn't like the story, you'll love the Bollywood-style ending credits.
