a kinder/gentler X FILES???

Went to see this out of nostalgia. Don't regret going, but can't really recommend it to hardcore fans -- not enough X FILES stock-in-trade. It stands up as a kind of suspense/midlife crisis relationship drama, but you need the Mulder/Scully backstory to appreciate where they are in this flick, so I can't recommend it to non-fans either. Still, there were a few nice X touches (subversive humor), and it was good to see old friends (no spoilers) pop up. So, if you are that X Fan who loved the series as an FBI romance, with aliens, you might find this satisfying. And if you do go, stay through the credits.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
