The beginning let’s you get comfortable with the characters but it doesn't last long as the carnage gets started quickly. The acting is over par for most characters even though the lead played by Jennifer Carpenter of "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" (Recommended) seemed to be left out of the spotlight after the first 30 minutes of the movie. I liked that it provides a sense of survivalism (NIN song) when you know your odds of surviving are really slim considering both good (CDC) and bad (infected) are against you getting out the quarantined area. Overall the movie provides you with the feeling that reminds me of "The Blair With Project" and such “Cloverfield” which I both enjoyed.
I believe this is the reason why go to the movies. This is the reason why I pay the $12 ticket and $10 food (popcorn and soda) to watch a movie in theaters. Dark Knight is essentially the epitome of all comic book movies. You will not be more excited to see the dark and deep issues faced in this movie. It blows the mind away to see such a comic book medium be translated into a movie like Christopher Nolan has here. You should watch this movie just to have something to talk about with your pals because come Monday morning that's all they'll be talking about.
