Had to go and see it just because I grew up watching the others. Plot - saggy.... what was that whole FBI/McCarthyism subplot that went nowhere? - might have been interesting, but in retrospect just looked stupid. Other elements of plot - what you would expect...but that's okay. YOu don't go to see this to get character development...
So the stunts - pretty good, but I found the ancient puzzles etc a bit wanting... Mind you they are competing with National Treasure these days, so maybe they decided to concentrate on the action. Cate Blanchett was good, but the baddies weren't quite evil enough for this level of escapism.
Karen Allen was cute, the boy was tolerable, Ray Winston was mugging furiously, and Ford actually did not do a bad job. Overall, it was Popcorn entertainment that I felt tempted just enough to watch at the cinema as opposed to DVD, and the movie got away with it.. just....
