OK. For those X-Philes out there (especially shippers) the movie was really good about the Mulder/Scully dynamic. Once again Chris Carter has developed the relationship behind the scenes. Its evolved in an interesting way and shows partnership in a whole different light.
As for the plotline - don't expect aliens and monsters. This one is like Irresistable. Its about human disgust and the evil of man. with a little psychic weirdness thrown in.
Chris Carter said this movie was about faith. and that is the overall theme. Especially if you are an xphile and the 2012 backstory remains.
Overall, very different for an x-file. But still quite good. Remember, it isn't 2002 anymore.
