Maybe in the last 3 years. This film is dark and psychologically twisted. Parents should think twice before taking the kids, truly nightmare potential. Heath Ledger owns the role of the Joker. I can't imagine a better performance by anyone. In fact, I'm having a hard time envisioning how they will ever top this episode. The movie is long but not tiresome. I saw it yesterday and could go again today. It's like a thrill ride you just keep getting in line to ride again and again. Visually rich, the score is dramatic, mood setting and huge. Batman Begins was excellent, especially compared to the cartoony films that were originally put out. This movie is a whole other level.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
