Pretty spot on to the book!

My complaint with movies made from books is how they tend to not follow the book like some fans might like. I found this movie was true to the book (a few quibbles, but nothing major to me). And it was an all around good movie. I enjoyed it and can't wait for the final movie next year.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great movie. Loved the effects, plot was good. A bit long at 2 1/2 hours, but it was all good. Heath Ledger was great as the Joker (I would not go so far to say Oscar caliber, but a great performance). Christian Bale gives it his all as Batman and is H-O-T. I would not recommend to younger children, Two-Face is quite gross and will scare them.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
