I took my teenage duaghters to see this film, 14 and 12, as they had read the book. I felt the movie was well done, not having read the book myself. Parts of the film did drag a bit, and were reminiscent of "What Dreams May Come", but overall, the storytelling was good without dwelling too much on the details of the actual crime, and the cinematography was excellent. The scene with the broken bottle ships was stunning. I would, and have, recommended this film to friends and family.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
