I used to enjoy the old batman tv show and movies. They were always good for a laugh or two but when Batman Begins came out I was hooked on Batman's darker side. Christian Bale is an incredible Batman. When I heard that there would be a second one I couldn't wait to see it. That was the most intense movie I have ever seen. I left the theatre with a stiff neck. It took you into the physicological side of both Batman and the Joker. You felt their pain, anger, love and disappointment. Heath Ledger was absolutely incredible!! There were times you forgot he was playing a part. He added so much to the character that we never saw in the Jack Nicholson version. He gave so many little quirks to this character. It was very sad to think that we will never see where this role could have taken this fine acter. He was just coming into his own. I feel he started with Brokeback Mountain. You saw his dark side. Prior to that his roles were just fun. I hope the academy will allow his family to enjoy an Oscar that he certainly diserved. This movie had something for everyone. Lots of emotion, action, the special effects were fantastic. Very exceptional filming. I only hope that there will be another to look forward to.
