Read the other reviews and they are spot on. Ledger's interpretation and acting will be remembered and discussed for YEARS to come. It will impair future Batman movies looking to incorporate the Joker....my opinion, noone will be able to perform at that level.
All other aspects (story line, action scenes, actors) were outstanding. I will have to say THE best movie I have ever seen. To put it another way....the theatre was packed and at the end, no one spoke as they left the theatre. Even out in the hall, my wife and I went into the bathrooms and they were full of people and both the Men's and Women's bathrooms were eerily silent as most of the people in there had come out of the Batman theatre. It was not until we reached the parking lot that I finally broke the silence in asking my wife was she thought and our thoughts were similar. The movie was very "dark"...most of it was the character that Heath brought to life....the criminally insane mind that has a total disregard for human life. It has been 24 hours since seeing the movie and I am still thinking about it.
