I have loved batman since I was a kid, so I was thrilled when they decided to come out with new versions showing the darker side of Gotham (starting with Batman Begins).
The show was non-stop action with the Joker (Heath Ledger) absolutely stealing the show. Every scene the Joker was in the audience was on the edge of its seat.
this did lead to one of the few problems i had with the movie, though. While it fully lasted the 2hrs 40 min (and packed a lot into the time), the entire movie was high suspense. there was no room for the movie to climax because everybody was already on edge.
in all fairness, i think that this was done to portray what it really was like in Gotham at the time, as there weren't any moments in the city where people could catch their breath, but it was a cinematic flaw.
all in all, amazing movie. best super hero movie i've ever seen, by far. it deserves more like a 4.6/5, but because it's not quite 5, i had to go w/ 4.
