I'm so glad to see one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood made into a live action film. With so many franchises jumping on the animation to live action genre GI Joe is the one that deserves it the most in my book. Real American heroes!
Pros great story
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fast 6 is poised to be my favorite of the franchise. Vin and The Rock are a great pair and are the new dynamic duo. While bringing back Letty did nothing for me I was glad to see Michelle Rodriguez back in action. Gina Carano as the undercover rogue cop brought her own brand of kick ass and was a nice addition to the cast.
Plenty of adrenaline and fast car sequences to keep fans happy. However I must say I was very very upset that Don Omar and Tego Calderón. Ugh!! These two just rock and I would have loved to see their return. There are a few sad moments at the end and one crew member is lost.
Don't leave your seat until you see a nice little teaser for Fast 7. It'll be a nice surprise. You're welcome!
Pros well paced, great story
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I am still reeling over the heart racing thrill ride offered up this year by the much awaited release of The Avengers. True to fashion Marvel Comics provides one heart stopping scene after another with an incredibly witty splattering of humor to go with. Loki Thor's adopted brother is up to no good. He wants to rule the Humans. He solicits the help of two unsuspecting men who help harness the power of the Tesseract a source of unknown and unlimited power. Little does he know that Iron Man, Captain American, Thor and the rest of the crew are not having it.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Sweet haunting and too real

We meet 3 women all of whom become connected at the end but each taking a very very different journey into motherhood through adoption.
Kerry Washington is perfect as the eager to please and barren wife Lucy who can't seem to allow herself to be imperfect and vulnerable as she and her husband seek to adopt a baby. Next we meet the very distant controlling manipulative and somewhat sadistic Elizabeth played by Naomi Watts. As predictable as it is that she is the daughter of Karen (Annette Bening) it is not predictable her choices as she weaves her way in and out of the life of others without discretion or care of what is left in her wake.
Karen is the most interesting character. She represents millions of women who have given up their babies for adoption only to be haunted by the choice for years to come and living a life limited by that choice. Surprisingly I found the chemistry between Bening and Smits (her eventual love interest) to be a bit dry, however Jackson and Watts sizzle as a May-December trysts. Their coupling results in the birth of a baby & brings a sweet and bitter end to a movie that leaves you wanting more. This almost perfectly cast movie left me looking for the easy to digest ending tied up all neat in a bow.
But as with life and adoption it's sometimes messy. And there is no perfect ending.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

6 Reasons to see this movie

1. Original concept: 6 Phrases taken from the novel "Song of Solomon" are turned into a script.
2. Lesser known and highly talented actors. But with one incredible gem, Novella Nelson!!
3. Directors trained in the greatest city, New York and a premier film school NYU
4 Depictions of black love in all its many facets without succumbing to ridiculous stereotypes or nudity.
5. The need to see it again so that you can discover something new.
6. This movie will confront you and challenge to take a look at your own hangups about love and relationships.
If you don't get the message upon first viewing be rest assured you will want to see these 6 vignettes again and again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
