While I don't want to give away any of the surprises so carefully protected by the cast and crew on the release date, I can say that this movie is a monster-of-the-week X-Phile's dream come true. Duchovny and Anderson are at the top of their game--indeed I would say that Gillian steals the movie--and Carter's direction is crisp and to-the-point. I found the lack of CGI and all-live stunts to be refreshing and unique in this day and age. The only problems I had with the movie were the almost-sudden ending, which I wish had been drawn out a bit more, the lack of real scares/thrills as I wouldn't call it a "scary" movie, and the short runtime. And remember, do NOT leave the theater until the lights come up--there's a very special scene after the credits roll. This is already one of the THE best movies I've ever seen of any genre which I can't wait to see again.
