I went to the midnight showing for the movie and waited awhile to see it. For what it was the movie was decent. But if you haven't read the book, you won't know half of what's going on. There is entirely too much detail and back story that was left out. You can watch it as it is and get a decent show, or you can read the book then watch the movie and really enjoy it. Seemed like the movie was trying to convey that the characters are maturing rather than advance the plot.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
