A well crafted film. A solid "A" for everything from costume design, acting and score to cinematography. However, seeing as the book was so short, there really wasn't much to go on, at least in terms of stretching it out into a feature length movie. In truth, while I understand that we were supposed to feel sympathy for Max and the Wild things separation at the end of the film, I found myself instead, relieved to be away from the overbearing, emotionally crippled pity-party that was the island full of Wild Things. That being said, I have the emotional range of a coffee cup, so maybe I'm not the best judge.
