This was an incredible film going experience and reminded me of why I love going to the movies. Yes it does share some elements with other sci-fi films but weaves them in such an original way that it makes it a classic sci-fi film in its own right. The production design is impeccable and this was BY FAR the best use of the IMAX format that I have seen yet. It literally filled the entire frame and was ridiculously immersive.
Also, I gotta say, I was really impressed with Cruise's screen presence. I don't know if anyone else could have pulled off this role as "effectively."
All in all, this is the epitome of the kind of film you need to see on the big screen and it is also one that will kick in your head for while since the overall concept is pretty awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, shot by the same person who did avatar/life of pi, wildly original visual palette, great score, production design unlike i have ever seen, immersive sound
