I would highly recommend this film but not for little children say 4-12 who are expecting more of the tradtional Batman. The film does follow more of the tradtional "dark side" of the Batman story which makes the film more realistic but is a little intense for that age group.
The cast is outstanding and Ledger will most ceratinly win an oscar for his portrayal of the Joker. Not because tragically he's passed away but because he was simply brillant! The sub plots work very well and adding two-face to the mix was unexpected twist but a solid choice!
The film is a little long BUT the storyline does keep you involved from begining to end. I actually plan on seeing it again! While violent certainly not gory which I appreciate!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
