Went to the film only because was in mood for a comedy, and it was recommended by person accompanying me. Not my first choice at all. I read the review here on this website, and it didn't seem good at all. However, I was pleasantly surprised by it. And I did not find the particular critiques of the review to be true. Especially, I did not find Vince Vaughn to be over-acting/working hard or in a role that didn't fit him. He seemed comfortable in it. And all the actors were enjoyable in this one.
This was a light-hearted film that had some meaningful messages about relationships. Some great laughs. Not the dumb and dumber type film that turns me off. Quite a nerve-wracking situation, yet realistic in life. Wish the resolution could be as common in life.
Would say the film struck me similar to when I saw "The Ugly Truth" against my own choice, and was pleasantly surprised then, too. This is not a great movie, but a real fun one. I recommend The Dilemma.
Definitely recommend to all ages (that may seem odd). But yes, a wonderful movie -- visually and story. Warning: it's emotional. We've come to love the characters and their message.
