One of the greatest movies overall, easily the best Batman movie ever released. After watching the movie the first time, watched the original Burton films, including Jack's Joker. Jack is creepy, Heath is way creepier, and more believable. I think the "believability" aspect that Nolan gave to this new series has given more credibility to Batman's character. Burton had done a great job turning a comic book into a movie - Nolan has turned a comic book into a masterpiece.
The only criticism I have is that Bale's Batman voice was overused and unnecessarily scratchy. It was almost to the point of annoyance, but fortunately there weren't many scenes where his Batman talked as most of his speaking was as Wayne. Still, this is incredibly minor and didn't detract too much from the movie as a whole.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
