Star Trek Reborn!

The first really enjoyable ST film in many years, perhaps since ST4. Abrams' reboot manages to simultaneously bring the franchise back to its roots and give it a slick new makeover. The problem with "prequels" is simply that we know how everything turns out. The time-travel / alternate reality premise of "ST" allows the filmmakers to introduce beloved old characters but leaves us plenty of room to explore. The effects are stunning - not simply giant explosions and swooping spaceships, but the attention to detail is remarkable. Abrams colors in the margins...there's simply so much to see! I plan on seeing this again on the big screen, which I can say about very few films nowadays.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
