Bring the vomit bag, because with all the quick cuts and jerky CGI movements, you may need it! No new story directions or character development are presented with this latest installment in the Star Trek franchise. Producers played it safe, and basically kept all the trekkies out there pacified while supplying 2+ hours of action for the ADHD crowd. As a 48-yr. old Star Trek fan, I am underwhelmed by such pyrotechnics, and long for stories with more intriguing plot and unexpected character developments. Alas, this film was pretty much exactly as you'd expect it to be, considering that $150 million budget was on the line. In other words, they played it safe, and...yawn...boring.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
