It reminded me of the whole nine yards. It had the comedy aspect along with action sequences that were fun, a little far fetched at times, but fun to watch. Don't take the movie too seriously and you'll enjoy it. John Malkovich is the best and the movie has it's fair share of clitches but it also has a couple unexpected twists to keep it fun. It's like a slot machine, you'll have moments of 'oh' and moments of "OH!" A good date movie or a movie to see with family.
This movie had moments where it had me ready to fall on the floor I was laughing so hard and then it had moments of potential greatness but it seemed like they couldn't really come up with any good ideas so they seemed to stumble into the next scene. It was like a slot machine. Some scenes hit it big and some scenes played with you like it was going to be good but just came up short. I still gave it 4 stars because it was totally original and the funny scenes were great. Also, Tina Fey and Steve Carell worked together extremely well. Hopefully they can do another movie together. Their chemistry has a lot of potential to be easily recreated.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thought the movie was exactly what it was. It was funny, it was cute, not better, not worse. It was a situation comedy that entertained for the lighthearted comedy person. I don't say that in a negative way either. There are certain kinds of desserts, meals, drinks that I like and I eat when I want. This is that kind of movie. If you like happy, comedy, movies, then go see it. If those movies seem too bland for you, then don't. It's that simple.
Overall it was a good movie with the exception of a couple of moments that seemed more like filler moments instead of plot moving moments. Denzel Washington, Mila Kunas and Gary Oldman were convincing in their roles without trying to overshadow each other in their scenes together. Make it about 15 to 20 minutes shorter and it was perfect.
It wasn't a flashy, make you jump out of your seat, blood and guts kind of movie. It was a sophisticated, take your time and continue to keep you moving, sort of suspense thriller. It was a mystery with some occasional action. In my opinion, Joel Silver seems to produce movies that don't become academy award winners but are fun to watch movies that can appeal to a wide range of people. Go in and wait for the movie to come to you, no expectations and they should've done this moments. Just watch and see what happens. I think anyone can enjoy it.
