Great, but overloaded with clichés

I guess I've seen too many movies at this point, but I do enjoy a great superhero action film. Downey was the perfect choice and the humor made him an excellent Stark. SFX were spot on and the cast was great. There was almost a Raymond Chandler sort of chemistry between Stark and Pepper. Favreau's technical skill and character development are good, but the script left the movie a little empty for me along with clichés that are better left out of movies now for that reason. The "biggest" one being the old mano a mano suit fight David and Goliath bit and the story that drove it. TIred, tired, tired. Looking forward to the 2010 sequel though.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
