A Very Dark Knight

I'm still trying to put into words just what this movie was like and its still not easy but I will give it a try.
Basically this movie's theme was consequence or escalation as some have labled it. Like The Empire Strikes Back this was the darkest part of a potential trilogy that takes the heros and puts them through hell and there only a small ray of hope at the end but not much.
While I don't believe Heath Ledgers portrayal of The Joker was oscar worthy it was a very good performace and the best Joker in the history of film and television. I think this Joker works well because he is very simple, an "agent of chaos" as The Joker puts it.
His sole purpose is to create death and destruction and not much else. We never learn his real name or where he came from and that perhaps is the scariest aspect, the feeling this guy was thrown into our world to wreak havoc by something else.
Bottom line this was a very good entry into what hopefully what will be a trilogy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
