Took my kids, ages 5-9, to see Rio 3D, and they all really enjoyed it. Animation was great in 3D, and loved how colorful it was. Plot is a bit far-fetched, and has some silly moments, but not enough to detract from the story line or enjoyment of watching. Glossed over Rio's slums, but that's expected in a kids movie. No cringe-worthy moments or bad language. Best family movie we've seen since Toy Story 3 (and not as scary).
Great family film but a bit intense for young kids

Overall, Toy Story 3 was a great movie-going experience for my whole family. The story was interesting and the characters engaging. An excellent ending to the series. I saw more than one parent wiping tears from their eyes during the scenes where Andy got ready to leave for college.
One caveat for families with kids < 6: the climactic scene is quite intense, and my 4-year-old was very scared & cried, so you may want to prep younger kids that there are a couple scary moments but everything will turn out OK.
