Good Clean Fun

Not usually big on musicals but willing to try anything. Good cast, if a little older than believeable. Streep is always worthy. Baransky is always fun, although her Rasta-like suitor was ill-advised and frankly "icky" since he was young enough to be her grandson. Brosnan's "singing" and lip-synching weren't as bad as his complete stiffness in "acting" out his singing whatsoever. Yet, it was almost charming in a vulnerable sort way, suggesting he was so in love with Streep's character that he would even torture himself (and us!) this way to get her. Firth was understated but fine in a secondary role; an ability more big names should try to emulate. And of course the classic ABBA songs are the whipped cream folded into it all. I felt the need to brush the sugar off my teeth afterwards, but so what... (B-)
Yes, I recommend this movie.
