Intoxicating beautiful locale, fun and enthusiastic cast, infectious ABBA songs, charming Jule Walters, handsome Pierce Brosnan, and the center of it all, singing and dancing Meryl Streep (who knew!). It's never easy to weave together existing songs with their , existing, lyrics, into a musical that makes complete sense, but Mamma Mia comes very close. Pierce gets extra credit for his singing. With very limited singing skills, he is braver than in any of his James Bond stunts. Julie and Meryl have great chemistry, even a strong resemblance. Just like an ABBA song, it's not deep, but is just as much fun; in this case more. Lots of fun and no one left during the funny mini-concert during the final credits.
