This movie was really enjoyable; great action, good humor and wonderful effects. It was long at 2 1/2 hours, but didn't feel like it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants some good, escapist fun.
This movie is a great sequel; we liked it even more than the first one. It is a totally hilarious fantasy romp through one night with Ben Stiller and the museum exhibits that come to life. You've got some very funny bad guys and good guys-Hank Azaria's campy Pharoah was great, and Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart was wonderful. If you're looking for reality, turn on the news; if you want an hour and 45 minutes of total fun, see this movie.
This movie had some really good moments, but just missed being as good as the trailers suggested. The premise of the older brother trying to discourage his younger brother from getting married was derailed by the character of the bride-to-be. She was played as such a bridezilla, it was impossible to work up any sympathy for her. And I found her promiscuous, yet curiously judgemental (when it came to men's behavior) bridesmaids revolting.I was actually agreeing with Matthew McConaughey's character-RUN! The scenes with McConaughey and Garner rescued this movie from being a total bomb, but it was still a waste of a good premise and some good casting.
I love Jason Statham; he is one of the best actors in action films today. However, this movie wasted him and the other good actors in it. Those in charge of this movie simply tried to recreate Crank, reworking in a very obvious and tired manner, the same story and plot devices (such as the public s** scene) from the first film. You see the scenes coming a mile away, which takes away the fun. The filmakers must have thought that if they upped the profanity, nudity and gore, the audience wouldn't notice that the movie just isn't very entertaining. Overall, very disappointing. We wouldn't even watch if for free if it was shown uncut and commercial free on TV.
This was much better than I expected; it had great laughs that were situational or character-based, and not the standard, Hollywood one-liners you can see coming from a mile away. The characters were likeable, the relationships believable and the plot was just enough to keep everything flowing along. Sidney is that guy who hasn't given up having fun just because he's an adult and has to make a living, and his effect on everyone else is well-thought out and well-written.
I really enjoyed this movie; it is an excellent choice for any age. It combines good casting, pacing and action with a easily followed plot to make a fun movie-going experience. Dwayne Johnson and the other actors work well together and have good chemistry. I highly recommend it.
This movie has a pitifully thin and stupid plot, poor writing, and is insulting to X-Files fans. The producers of this film obviously knew this, as they used a lot of boring and poorly shot filler scenes (such as the foot-chase) and a stupid sub-plot (the dying kid and the weak link to stem-cell research) to try to get this long enough to release as anything but a trailer. And talk about stock characters! First, you've got the verbally sceptical FBI agents; then the evil Russian guy, and wow! we've never seen this one before, the pedophile priest! It was a waste of a lot of very good actors and film crew's time and effort, and an obvious attempt to palm this off on the public using the draw of the X-Files name. And I don't know if anyone else noticed that in the trailer, Father Joe's eyes were black, not bleeding as in the movie.
