Took my 10-year old son to it; thought it was an entertaining flick that kept our interest throughout. Easy humor, solid special effects, good acting. Excellent father-son(s) storyline, and we saw it in 2D, which worked just fine. It's a well-made film, not just a "blow things up special effects bonanza". Because of that, along with Hemsworth's charm and good looks, I'm guessing most women could tolerate the action scenes. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone.
