Heath Ledger steals this movie hands down...most impressive performance of "The Joker" I have ever witnessed on the big screen. ...including Jack Nicholson's work from the 1989 Batman (although this is a little unkind because the two movies are really quite different.) Bale, Oldman and Eckhert deliver worthy performances...Michael Caine is understated and classy....but make no mistake...in this movie Ledger rules the day....or "the Knight" ...(bad pun intended.) It is amusing (and sad) to think of Nicholson "fuming" over the fact that he wasn't offered the role. I love Nicholson, but Ledger is incredible ..and I am not simply memorialzing him here due to his tragic death...see his work to believe it. He absolutely deserves a nomination from the academy posthumously for this remarkable work. Terrific special effects, costumes, set designs, cinematography....tempo slows a tad toward the end...still a 9 on a 10 scale....Kudos to Director Chris Nolan and Warner Studios!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
