My 17 year old saw The Dark Knight at Midnight, opening night and gave me the review that "it is the best movie he has ever seen." Since I have seen the entire Batman series, and had read so much about Ledger's performance, I saw it. Let me start by saying, it was a well done movie. The acting, special effects, production were all impressive. My problem was with the jerky camera work and what sounded like high pitched screaching in the background. About an hour or so into the movie, the head ache started. Thus, you can imagine that another hour and a half of the same was a little hard to bear. It is one of the few movies I can remember seeing that I thought "why isn't this over yet?" As we left the theater, however, I overheard another teenager declaring "that was the best movie [he] had ever seen." As a result, maybe I'm just too old for The Dark Knight. BTW: I saw several people with their children, ranging from 2 to 10, going to this movie. Word to the wise from a parent: Don't.
